Posted January 14, 200718 yr 'Lithium' new entry at #32 on the UK top 40 this week. :( Knew it would do poorly, but oooouch. Do you think they'll bother with anymore releases from TOD?
January 14, 200718 yr I can't see this being the final release somehow, I suppose it boils down to how the album's doing right now and if it helps it out at all...
January 14, 200718 yr That's what happens when you don't promote well. The video was also released too early. Everyone who knows that song likes it.
January 14, 200718 yr Such a shame. Its better than Everybodys fool and even that got higher. I prefer it to CMWYS, which got to number 4.
January 14, 200718 yr Author I dunno why everyone hates EF. I love it. It's to be expected though I suppose - knew it would happen. :(
January 15, 200718 yr Author The #31 sold 4000 copies last week so guess they sold about the sameish :manson:
January 15, 200718 yr This sont wasnt promoted well enough, but I was quite confident it would be top 30 at least! Hopefully now its been heard on Radio 1 Charts it might get people buying this week. We'll see. Edited January 15, 200718 yr by EvMark
January 15, 200718 yr What everyone fails to realise is, is that Ev have actually produced a proper ROCK album, for ROCK fans, because they are a ROCK band (despite the commercialist, mainstream Pop ambitions of Ben Moody who attempted to take the band in entirely the wrong musical direction, The Open Door is the proper follow up to "Origin"....) Rock/Metal fans tend not to buy singles, or leastways usually only the first single off an album before it's released... What's the point really..? The song's on the album, and any b-sides usually end up on the internet on free download sites these days...
January 15, 200718 yr Look on the bright side though, it's good that the album's holding up just outside the top 40, it could not be there at all considering the single has made very little impact.
January 15, 200718 yr GRIMLY FIENDISH is right.. Fallen was more commerical.. it's why it did so well.. but TOD is so much more experimental and creative.. it does sound like the material of Origin.. Its why it's so much better than Fallen. To be honest, I like Ev to do well, but I'd rather them had an "Ouch" at 32 than a remake of Fallen or an album that went commercial. Green days album went commerical and then people just ended up hating it.

Oh, I want them to do well, but more importantly, like you do I'm sure, I want them to create beautiful, challenging music, and that is what they HAVE done on TOD.... I dont care whether it 'shifts loads of units', it's the music that should count at the end of the day.... I dunno, I'm just really p!ssed off that so many are on a downer on them now just because Amy is actually following her original vision for the band and has excised the corrosive influence of Ben Moody and his Kelly Clarkson/Anastacia worship, which as far as I'm concerned, has absolutely no place in Evanescence....
January 16, 200718 yr Well it would've been #7 on physicals only  Wow, is it sure? Then I guess physicals count almost nothing to the charts these days!!!
