Posted December 16, 20241 yr Wicked may still be smashing at the cinema but the ball is already rolling for Part 2, with a Wicked: For Good title announced today! Hopefully an 11 month wait will be a piece of cake after creating the thread for Part 1 about 3 years ago :lol: I have seen that both Ariana and Cynthia are getting an original song to sing in this movie, intrigued for those on top of the more familiar favourites.
December 16, 20241 yr Yep they both have a new solo which apparently everyone felt was necessary for storytelling which I can definitely see, Act 2 of the musical is much shorter and quite rushed so I can see why each character arc would need a song added to fill it out. For Good the song is going to absolutely break me especially with the friendship between Ariana and Cynthia that we’ve seen through all the promotional activities.

November 20, 2025Nov 20 Seeing this today as Odeon by me has an advance screening!! I’m 50/50 as the second half of the musical isn’t great and reviews on social media are not great, but we’ll see. I think a lot of the latter are people who didn’t like the first one anyway lol and people are almost gagging for it to be bad so idk.I think this might be more about the songs and performances/intrepetatations, No Good Deed is my fave song from Wicked anyway and For Good will definitely be emotional given the real friendship between Ari and Cynthia plus there’s the new songs that will I assume more depth then the musical’s second act had.

November 20, 2025Nov 20 Ok, it was about as good as it could have been given part 2 of the musical was always going to be tricky to adapt for a film.The first half of this is a bit of a slog sadly, I did find myself mentally thinking of the track list in my head and how far along we might have been, willing myself to get to As Long As You’re Mine and No Good Deed. Once the action picked up, this was a worthy conclusion and I did enjoy it. Any slog was worth it for No Good Deed, I am deceased omg Ari’s performance was brilliant, I feel that this film was Glinda’s story if part 1 was Elphaba’s and she owned every second of it. The chemistry between her and Cynthia was a huge highlight again when they did have scenes.
