March 8, 200718 yr Had a really strange dream last night  Went up to Manchester to see the Vortex, and Will was playing all the female characters as well as his own part of Nicky  Wigs, dresses, the lot  Trouble was, when he was playing Florence, he was wearing this really dodgy grey wig, and a floral pinny   His stocking were wrinkled down by his ankles. Very Nora Batty :P He looked fab in Bunty's dress

March 9, 200718 yr It is lovely that Meme and Joseph went. Apparently they were sitting together afterwards. Will seems to gather the loveliest people around him. (Apart from us that is!)
March 9, 200718 yr Thought I'd bring my report over from Devoted. :yahoo: Literally just walked through the door but had to post before I did anything else. All I can say is WONDERFUL Manchester & WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL Will. It was great to spend time with so many lovely devotees. Thanks especially to my partner in crime Brenda & meeting up again with Pauline & Betty. I'm still smiling now at Betty's creativity with the plastic fork & the saga of the lost ear ring. You are briliant company ladies. Nice to meet Kim & Ann (think I got that right) & to say hello to Janice again. The performance was fantastic & Will seems to have grown into the part even more than when I saw him a couple of weeks ago. He really did do angry & was so convincing in the part of Nicky. Couldn't see some of his facial expressions so clearly from my seat this time but this was more than made up for by him exiting the stage a couple times near where I sat. Thank goodness for aisle seats particularly for the wonderful 'my God' line. Noticed how handsome Drew is too. Not quite in Will's league though. His gran walked passed us before the show on her own & later we spotted her in the first gallery with Joseph. How proud she must feel of her grandson. We saw her leave with Joseph & Will signed for a few waiting by the stage door, then had a quick drink with Diana before leaving. I saw someone approach him as he made his way to the table & he declined them so having already got an autograh I didn't approach him. I think you just sense when he needs his space. I ws just happy to see him & to be standing in the bar as he came out. I'm sure you'll already have heard of his outfit. Brenda & I did giggle that his hat was missing when he came out of the stage door but appeared from his bag when he left. Maybe he thought his gran wouldn't approve. Feel on such a high. Still can't quite come to grips with how this quiet unassuming young man comes to life on stage. You can just see how much he's loving it & his beaming smile at the end was the biggest I've ever seen. I've come away happier than I've felt in a while. Our lovely Will is just in his element on stage whether it be singing or acting & I honestly can't see him staying away from performing for very long. Sorry for the ramble but the words just seem to have come tumbling out.
March 9, 200718 yr Author I'm back and I've had a great day, :yahoo: the cast were absolutely fantastic tonight and Will was actually sobbing and really crying and I mean properly crying, he had to wipe the tears away at the end. I'll post my report tomorrow, feeling a bit all over the place at the moment, last day tomorrow. :( Just noticed your lovely report TT, I enjoyed reading that. Edited March 10, 200718 yr by suggy
March 10, 200718 yr Glad to read you had a great but emotional day suggy. Looks as if the run drawing to a close is really getting to Will  Eagerly awaiting your report later.
March 10, 200718 yr Thanks for your lovely report TT and suggy I am looking forward to your report ....he as really got into the charactor of Nicky, I noticed when I went on monday that he was struggling to say some of his lines in the last scene because he was so emotional...he gave such a stunning performance and it looks like he is getting more emotional as the week goes on:thumbup: I think the audience will be in tears tonight ...never mind Will
March 10, 200718 yr Author Sorry I'm a bit late with my report, I had a lovely day yesterday and can I first of all say thanks to flipflop for taking me as usual there and back, I really appreciate all the many, many times you've done this over the years. Me flipflop and AnneN all arrived in Manchester about 4pm and after parking up we went for a wander around the shopping centre, Anne at her usual Olympic speedwalking pace and me and flipflop trying to keep up and failing miserably. We made our way to the REX and flipflop took a pic of the big Vortex poster outside for the last time, :( I hope it comes out ok. We then went off to the Moon On The Lake? and had our tea, when we got back to the theatre it was getting really busy and we recognised a lot of O/S and Devotees there, I'm sorry I can't remember all of their names but you were all lovely and we had a laugh passing the time before the play started, I was sat next to Eve-Alex and I think carrie? anyway, flipflop told them who I was and they misheard it as saggy instead of suggy. So cue much laughter at me being "saggy", I just know my new name is going to stick    Relief! I was saved by the bell! and it was time to go in and watch the play for the second and last time for me. Well I was in for such a surprise, I think I was guilty of "Will watching" the first time I went, but after reading all the reports over the past two months I was more relaxed and determined to take in everything. Well I got totally engrossed in all the performers last night and I thought everyone was excellent, it was slicker, funnier and just so much better than the first time I saw it way back in January and I loved it! The second half was when it really got to me, the expessions on Will's face said it all and the last scene between him and his mother (Diana, who was awesome) were outstanding, it really shook me up when he got angry and shouted so loud, :o but to see him at the end really crying and sobbing, it upset me as I saw the tears on his cheeks and his eyes were all wet, the applause was really loud and after a feww whoops and whistles, I decided to add my own whistle and nearly deafened poor flipflop. We stayed behind in the bar for about 30mins as flipflop wanted to get her poster signed if she could, I didn't think he would come out as there was quite a large crowd down by the stage doors. So I stayed where I was, chilling out having a pot of tea  I saw them all come walking back up and flipflop told us that things had been taken in to him to sign and she'd got her poster signed, well she would have done if she'd taken it out of the tube, Will had only gone and signed the bloody cardboard tube hadn't he. Not long after, I saw Will walk over the other side of the bar in a black polo jumper, dark shades and white jeans. We had to walk past his table on the way out and like an idiot I said bye to Will and thankyou, he just looked up as he took a drag on his ciggie and that's the last time I'll be seeing him for quite a while I should think. :( I'm so glad he did this play and I hope he does more acting in the future, I've enjoyed the experience so much and I also got to meet Will for the very first time as well. Thanks for all the wonderful reports I've read from everyone and thanks most of all to Will, for being such a wonderful, talented and very special man. :yahoo:
March 11, 200718 yr Thanks suggy I am useless at reports so wont even attempt it...but I just wanted to say I had a wonderful time tonight ..the whole of the audience gave a standing ovation and the applause... the roof almost came off ...I heard one of the staff talking to another saying "did you see ,wow it was amazing" overheard one of the theatres sponsers [i think] saying he could not believe the way the audience jumped to their feet :o [he stood as well  ] Will mouthed to Diana [i think  ] they are all standing up how nice ...and he was trying to hide a grin  Edited March 11, 200718 yr by BanYellowm+m's
