After a year hiatus, my EOY Top 100 is back and counting down my top 100 of 2024!

Speak Now (Taylor's Version) was announced at the Eras Tour in Nashville in May 2023 much to the surprise of many Swifties in attendance. I would have loved to have been there in the moment. Speak Now is my favourite album of Taylor's earlier years and Taylor's version elevated the record to new heights, especially with the absolutely gorgeous i Can See You which just missed out on the top 10 for me. A truly remarkable record which is very underrated amongst Swifties.

Kylie Minogue dropped Tension II during the latter part of 2024 in a much improved sequel to her highly acclaimed Tension. Tension was already a great album but for me Tension II is the perfect dance record from Kylie with some proper bangers such as Hello and Good As Gone. It did manage to reach #1 in the UK album charts but sadly it fell off quicker than a rock in a swimming pool. I cannot wait to see Kylie on tour next year and I know it's going to be huge!

Released just a year before, Kylie Minogue made her music comeback with Tension, which came from the huge success of Padam Padam. With a similar dance sound to Tension II, Kylie really does just keep being relevant and with two number ones in my chart and a further 4 more top 20s, my love for Kylie has grown massively over the past two years.

The success of the Eras Tour lives on with 2019 album, Lover making it to number 2 in my top 5 albums of 2024. I never really gelled with Lover when it was released, but monster hit Cruel Summer getting it's deserving success last year and the fantastic opener to the tour with the Lover era, meant that I found myself coming back to this album more and more this year. More bubblegum pop than usual from Taylor Swift, it fills me with joy and I am hoping we see another pop style album from Taylor next. It would be nice for a more happier approach with her currently being loved up with Travis. Here's hoping!

Well, what can we say about THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT? Just look at how many of the album tracks charted for me in 2024. I racked up over 500 plays of this album between April and the end of the year and I am still not tired of it. It currently sits at no.1 in my ranking of Taylor Swift albums, just above the wonderful folklore. This album is a journey of so many emotions, but I have to say The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived really got me and still does. And that performance at the Eras Tour? GOLDEN. It's a shame it didn't quite reach number 1 on my chart as the brilliant Fortnight enjoyed an amazing chart run including 5 weeks at no.1

Kicking off my top 100 of 2024 is the opening track to Midnights by Taylor Swift. Lavender Haze is a nice chilled out song to open an album but I did find it quite boring, even on the Eras Tour, the performance didn't sell the song either. It did manage to chart in the UK at #3 with the track 1 effect though. However it finds itself just scraping into my top 100 based on my massive year of Taylor Swift music in 2024.

At #99 we see another appearance in a year-end list for Six the Musical. This show has a very special place in my heart. I was completely obsessed with it in 2019-2021 and I have now seen the show over 100 times. I do now have the privilege of working alongside the show in London and I am so proud of how far the show has come.

98. LIZZIE The Musical - What the F**k Now, Lizzie?!

LIZZIE the Musical follows the story of Elizabeth Borden in 1892 with the murder of her father and mother-in-law. I saw this musical at the Southwark Playhouse Elephant in January this year and I absolutely loved it. Full on rock music but in a musical setting. It was just epic. What the F**k Now, Lizzie?! is the track sung by Lizzie's sister Emma after discovering the death of their parents. I was howling at this performance in the show. So fun.

We're back to Taylor Swift at #97. From the pop album Lover, London Boy is a cheesy track all about her ex boe (who we shall not name), it's a cute little song but not one of my favourites from Lover.

Diamonds is an absolute earworm, a bit of a basic bop but Kylie knows exactly how to stay relevant and 2023/2024 have been brilliant years for her.

The final member of Little Mix to release their debut single this year was JADE with the absolutely incredible Angel Of My Dreams (which will feature as a standalone entry later on in this countdown). Shortly after it's release and becoming a huge hit for her, JADE released this absolutely stunning slower version of the song. I already loved AOMD but I'll let the video above to the talking. Just stunning, take a listen.

Something I never thought I'd chart in 2024 was a song by Disturbed, which is definitely not my usual genre of choice :lol:. However, this insane CYRIL remix made the song fly up the charts last year and honestly it's a bit of a bop, despite the morbid lyrics lol.

At #92 we have yet another love song from Calum Scott with Lighthouse. The song is nice but it is kind of just rinse-and-repeat from Calum. He has a stellar voice though, but I just think "wedding singers" every time I hear his songs :lol:.

Released alongside Pink Friday 2 in late 2023, Nicki Minaj sampled the classic Everybody (Move Your Feet) with a feature from Lil Uzi Vert to create simply, Everybody. It wasn't the only sample on this album, and the album certainly didn't live up to the iconic Pink Friday, but it is an ok song.
