January 13Jan 13 Just started following this today here are my faves: Spectrum (Say My Name) - Florence and the Machine (Calvin Harris remix) - I think I prefer the Morgan Seatree remix that is currently popular on Beatport! Jamelia - Through A Boys Eyes - wow had forgotten about this, is nostalgic No Church In The Wild - Jay Z, Kanye West, Frank Ocean - This is great amazing production, had forgotten about this No Air - Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown - This is nostalgic Jordin is great on it Level Up - Sway - I miss the dubstep era, I preferred Still Speedin as it was less commercial sounding. Drunk In Love - Beyonce and Jay Z - really liked this at the time and was frustrated because the inferior imo 'XO' was getting most of the radio airplay for a while Propane Nightmares - Pendulum - One of the best drum and bass hits Maria Maria - Santana / The Product G&B - My parents had the Santana CD this was on and this is nostalgic The Bad Touch - Bloodhound Gang - The production is quite Pet Shop Boys sounding I think! Can’t Hold Us - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis / Ray Dalton - Loved this at the time after not really liking 'Thrift Shop' Deepest Shame - Plan B - dark subject matter but great song Ms Jackson - OutKast - my principal when I was at school at the time was called Ms Jackson so this song became popular in my school! Fix Up, Look Up - Dizzee Rascal - I like the big beat Toca’s Miracle - Fragma / Coco - Pretty Green Eyes - Ultrabeat - Love both of these some great dance music in the early 00s Am I Wrong - Nico & Vinz - Very nostalgic now 212 - Azealia Banks / Lazy Jay - really liked this at the time - this was big on late night radio 1 before it became a hit! You Know My Name - Chris Cornell - great chorus Never Forget You - Noisettes - like this - way better than 'Don't Upset The Rhythm' Strangers - Kenya Grace - one of the best UK #1s this decade Glad You Came - The Wanted - those accordion synths, must have been influenced by Danza Kuduro and Ai Eu Se Te Pego at the time! Better in Time - Leona Lewis - really liked this at the time way better than 'Bleeding Love'. Glorious - Andreas Johnson - what a chorus! Promise This - Cheryl Cole - easily her best song imo! Eat Sleep Rave Repeat - Fatboy Slim / Riva Starr / Beardy Man - a revival of the Public Domain Bass in the Place type sound from late 2000 How You Remind Me - Nickelback - great song, easily their best imo! Golden Skans - Klaxons - one of the best 00s indie songs Video Games - Lana Del Rey - really liked this at the time, very atmospheric On a Mission - Katy B - this was so different to anything else in the charts at the time Please Forgive Me - David Gray - his best song imo, nostalgic Trap Queen - Fetty Wap - this is a guilty pleasure Love Lockdown - Kanye West - liked this at the time, good production Cha Cha Cha - Kaarija - great tune, good to see genres like industrial metal in Eurovision Harder Than You Think - Public Enemy - really liked this in 2012 when it was a UK hit because of the Paralympics! Prayer in C - Lillywood / Robin Schulz - one of the best 10s dance hits imo Escapism - Raye / 070 Shake - really tells a story The Edge of Glory - Lady Gaga - has a big ending! Bring Me to Life - Evanescence - an epic Under Control - Calvin Harris / Alesso / Hurts - my favourite #1 of the decade Alors On Danse - Stromae - bop, heard this on holiday this year! Kiss Me More - Doja Cat / SZA - great summery song Starry Eyed - Ellie Goulding - great debut song I Believe in a Thing Called Love - The Darkness - good 70s rock revival and stood out from other songs at the time Say It Right - Nelly Furtado - well produced bop Sandstorm - Darude - there were better trance songs but this is iconic Who Do You Love Now - Riva / Dannii Minogue - now this is a great and atmospheric vocal trance song Bye Bye Bye - N Sync - bop but there was a better songs from 2000 with this sort of exciting production - Billie Piper - Day and Night.
