January 23Jan 23 Sorry I commented on 1000-976 and then had too much on over Christmas and New Year. I’ll use your pause to start catching up. 975-951: Euphoria - I find all the diss lyrics a bit boring but it’s a good track Teenage Dirtbag - this is still great: his voice is an acquired taste but works perfectly for this A&W - this is brilliant and feels like an epic story; a real 2023 moment Spectrum - still sounds wonderful: a big highlight for both artists I Need - I NAY-AY-AYED: the pronunciation is odd but I like the stream of consciousness feel to it Godzilla - this is really underrated I think - so inventive and the speedy rap is very impressive Passionfruit - one of my favourite Drake tracks, with such a lovely ambience Hold My Hand - never liked it and it’s got worse over time with the replays of the advert Let Me Love You - this is very late 2010s with the tropical house feel, but a decent track Your Power - not a Billie favourite for me; I prefer her when she isn’t grinding an axe How Would You Feel - for me a Sheeran lowlight; very dreary Dance With Me - I prefer “Bonkers” but this is still a classic All The Stars - this still sounds brilliant: again a real highlight for both artists Memories - it’s quite a cute reimagination of the “Canon”: bit of a guilty pleasure A Thousand Miles - not a personal favourite but a classic of its genre The Bike Song - a really charming synth laden ‘80s style track Ex’s And Oh’s - love this: a unique and gritty pop song DIY - a cute jazzy number but not up with The Beautiful South’s best Hysteria - the frenzied guitars on this are wonderful Must Be Santa - a great Christmas track: must be one of his best 21st century efforts You Ruin Me - I loved this at the time but now think it’s drama over substance Float On - I didn’t know this: feels quite trippy and chaotic but a cute track Anti-Hero - one of her best tracks of the last few years and lyrically very strong and relatable Merry Christmas - nothing groundbreaking but a very sweet and cheery addition to the festive canon See It In A Boy’s Eyes - one of her best: that Chris Martin piano riff is gorgeous and timeless sounding
