Hugo Keenan scored a last-minute try against Australia to win a classic Test match and seal a series victory for the British and Irish Lions at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

In front of a record Lions crowd of more than 90,000, there was nail-biting tension all evening during a game for the ages. Even when Keenan scored, there was a television match official check that would have had every Lions fan quaking in their boots.

The boss of World Rugby has rejected Australia coach Joe Schmidt's claim that the decision at the end of the second Test against the British and Irish Lions contravened the sport's player welfare drive.

Centre Garry Ringrose has been ruled out of the British and Irish Lions' third Test against Australia on Saturday as he continues to recover from a head injury.

On Thursday, Ringrose withdrew from Andy Farrell's starting XV for the second Test after feeling the effects of concussion in training.

The 30-year-old, who was replaced by Huw Jones for the Lions' dramatic 29-26 series-clinching victory in Melbourne, also missed out on possible selection for the first Test because of a head injury.
