January 10Jan 10 Author Defending champion Ronnie O'Sullivan has withdrawn from the Masters on medical grounds. O'Sullivan, 49, was aiming to win a record-extending ninth title, and had been set to face John Higgins in a blockbuster opening to the tournament at Alexandra Palace on Sunday. The Englishman's place in the invitational event for the 16 highest-ranked players in the world will be taken by Neil Robertson.

January 30Jan 30 Author Northern Ireland's Mark Allen lost 5-4 to Wu Yize in the second round of the German Masters in Berlin. Breaks of 53, 54, 50 and 56 helped Allen to a 4-2 lead, with his Chinese opponent compiling a run of 72 in winning frame four. Wu put together breaks of 64 and 133 to draw level with the world number four and recent Riyadh Season Championship winner, before coming out on top in the deciding frame to secure his passage into the third round. The world number 25 will face Alexander Ursenbacher in round three after the Swiss player earned an impressive 5-0 win against England's Ali Carter. Mark Selby also bowed out, losing 5-4 to Elliot Slessor, and Scotland's John Higgins was beaten 5-3 by Wales' World Championship runner-up Jak Jones. Jones will face England's Kyren Wilson next in a repeat of the 2024 Crucible final.
February 10Feb 10 Author Recent German Masters semi-finalist Yuan Sijun continues his brilliant form as he registers breaks of 112, 63, 64 and 66 in a 4-1 win over Chinese compatriot Zhou Yuelong. The loss ends Zhou's hopes of making the World Grand Prix.
February 18Feb 18 Author Ronnie O'Sullivan's absence from the World Snooker Tour continues after it was announced he'll miss next week's World Open in China. O'Sullivan has not played in a ranking event since November and withdrew from the Masters last month.
