Posted January 13Jan 13 After an unusual encounter, a talented chef and a recent divorcée fall in love and build the home and family they've always dreamed of, until a painful truth puts their love story to the test. bS0Clau5700 This is the first film I've seen this year, I adore Florence Pugh and quite like Andrew Garfield as well so I was excited to see this from the cast alone. It's told through a nonlinear narrative that focuses on three different timelines within the two main characters relationship which was very well done. You know what's going to happen and where their story is headed very early on but it keeps you engaged throughout trying to piece each part together as you understand how they go from one timeline to another. Both characters are endearing to watch and you can't help but feel connected to them and their story. I came out of the cinema googling if it was based on a true story as it had that kinda feel to it (I don't think it is). As much as it's pegged as a rom-com I wouldn't say there's very much comedy to it as it does tell an ultimately heartbreaking story. I think all the funny moments are in the trailer, it does give most of the film away  It is quite heavy in parts. It's a great film if that's your cup of tea though, I'd probably give it a 4/5 stars. Florence in particular is amazing. The reason it's not 5/5 is I did still come out of it feeling a bit unsatisfied, I'm not sure why though it just felt like there was something missing with the actual story telling aspect but I guess that's the point to a degree with how it ends etc.Its definitely worth a watch though if you're looking for something to see at the cinema! I can see this going to streaming services quite quickly though.
