if you go to that US website called ASCAP, which is the website where people register songs

Chappell just registered The Giver

and people only register songs there when the release is imminent, just to avoid giving away clues about song titles

so I think it should come out sooner than later

I don’t know why this seems to be such a marmite song. Whilst it’s quite a different sound to her previous material, it still has that catchy melody and tongue in cheek lyric you would associate with

Debuts at number 5 here in Ireland at number 5 with pink pony club a non mover at number 2 and good luck babe climbing 3 to 6 so 3 songs top 6 is a great week for her.

Maybe this coupld even be album release week

Guess since airplay is so slow in the us, thats when the giver will peak on airplay

The 7" has already sold out. Lots of promo ramping up for this so quickly so wouldn't be surprised if it's out on Friday
If she releases it this Friday it’ll have a great shot at number 1 in my opinion
The 7" is in stock on Recordstore / Island UK websites for anyone that missed it on her own website.

Any further indications this will be out tomorrow?

I think it won't be, we'd have some indication from Australia and New Zealand Spotify if it was.

I seen on the radio1.gr website that the song is rumoured to be released on 14th March

I hope I like the full thing... I'm not loving the clip that was teased on tiktok...

I'm glad it doesn't sound like more of the last album... But I wouldn't have been sad at that either 😂

I'm very intrigued to hear what this sounds like in studio form as the SNL performance was extremely Country (the kinda Country hit that wouldn't really be a hit anywhere outside of the US...)

It was a bop, but not sure how the general UK public would take to it. It's my least favourite Chappell song I've heard since her breakthrough album (although I've ofc only heard the SNL version of it), but as I said - it's still a bop and she's on one of those rolls right now where pretty much anything she does is guaranteed to be an absolute SMASH.

IMAGINE if something from Gaga's album truly takes off this coming Friday... we could *potentially* (i.e. it won't happen lmao) have the campest Top 3 of all time! Chappell, JADE & Gaga???

(In an ideal world obvz and it will NOT happen lmao - but just IMAGINE!!!!!! In an ideal world!)
