  • I don't particularly like Carti but I see quite a bit of unnecessary hostility on here towards almost any rap song & artist that does well on the charts. If it was purely directed towards Carti I

  • If it weren’t for Chappell, we’d be having some shitty rap song going #1

  • imagine how different the reactions on here would be if the positions were swapped and someone said "If it weren't for Carti, we'd be having some shitty country song going #1" lol

Not when streams are on that level and ACR lurking behind the corner. At least Harry Styles will be bigger.

Good news for Jade fans, FUFN just came on autoplay on Spotify for me.

Really hope Jade returns to the top 200 on Spotify at some point

it seems to me Ordinary is benefitting from Lewis Capaldi being on hiatus and the public in desperate need of something to fill that void

The public have just had Teddy Swims!!!

Ordinary is a soundtrack, a radio song an anthem….it has it all.

Imagine being in an arena and Ordinary is played live the chills could only be replicated standing in a Mauritius safari standing next to Lions roaring

People have to get past the title saying Ordinary that’s a very mundane take on a piece of musical art. Sure people might want some other song due to an artist they like but that same song by someone else and they wouldn’t be interested. This is the opposite. The song speaks for itself. This is James Arthur at his peak, this is Benson without the screeching. You won’t get a more universally general public friendly number 1 for a little while that is for sure

I think Benson's a lazy comparison, one listen of his album shows he's a less pedestrian artist than Ordinary portrays Alex Warren to be.

(Ordinary is growing on me, it's pleasant if unspectacular)

Bit of an oversell. The choral elements and unexpectedly good lyrics are what sells it for me. It will get old pretty fast if it gets as overplayed as Lose Control and Beautiful Things but it is a good song, easily the cream of the "straight white guy ballad with raw vocals" crop we've had over the past year.

If your standard is James Arthur, you sure would love Ordinary.

for me Ordinary is a poorly written song, lazy and pedestrian, made for the Karens that listen to Teddy Swims.

Nothing to do with art or good songwriters, no story-telling, not coming from the guts, totally fake and phoned in.

It's possible to not like a song while not going out of your way to position yourself as a superior music listener. wtf does 'Karen' even mean anymore aside from misogyny with a paper thin mask on?

Wouldn't take it personally I'm starting to think Bjork is anti anything but Taylor swift 🤭

Not sure how serious this post is, but I'm pretty sure there aren't any lions in Mauritius 😂

St Patricks impact:

47: Hozier - Take Me to Church (+25)

70: The Cranberries - Linger (+57)
78: The Cranberries - Zombie (RE)
160: Van Morrison - Brown Eyed Girl (RE)

162: Maverick Sabre - I Need (RE)

Looks like Chappell has it this week then! Nice rise for Sleep Token too. Carti also recovering with his album, Evil Jordan up to 7. Lil Tecca up to 39

I wish Maverick Sabre could become relevant again
