These lipsync Lalaparuza episodes have been mostly going downhill since AS6, with S16's being an exception to the rule.

I disagree with the winner, as usual. BUT as soon as Bosco went out, I also didn't care which of the other three took it.

This fan reaction is absolutely insane and ridiculous. I would have preferred Lydia or Bosco or Jorgeous to win, but Ginger killed this season. Yes it’s kind of dull to have a 4th timer steamroll, but someone who did well at Drag Race won Drag Race, shocker

I hope she comes back for All Winners 2 out of spite. If only some fans realised you can be normal and just go on with your life when someone you didn’t want to win wins a TV show. It’s cracking me up people are on about rigging and favouritism like… ok that’s the show? It’s literally RUPAUL’S Drag Race, she decides the winner. It’s not like it’s a public vote and Ginger won with less fan support.

On the contrary I think if she was never good enough at Drag Race to win fairly, having a season fixed in her favour as a way of doing it is in my mind, bullshit. It's the same reason Alyssa Edwards has a crown.

Ultimately this way of doing Drag Race also doesn't feel like this is a 'real' crown. She had to do five competitive episodes to get this. Even Bebe back in season 1 had more than that and they were a whole mix of things too. Almost anyone could win Drag Race if they were handed five episodes in a row (or at least 4) of challenges that are in their particular skillset, plus one team challenge where you can rely on your teammate solely to do the costuming portion you're not as strong as. Just comparing to other recent seasons. Jimbo and Angeria had 10 competitive episodes. Onya and Nymphia had 13. Most international queens have 8 or 9. It makes for a more compelling arc and most competitors need to show range OR lipsync to justify their spot.

If she does come back for AW2 she's not going to do as well on it without the favoritism that she won't be given if she's cast with someone like Lawrence, Jimbo or Sasha Colby.

Ginger absolutely is good enough to win, she should have won season 7. That’s not a reason to give her a crown now, but she did objectively well at all 5 challenges she did. Not comparable at all to Alyssa who bombed half the season and had to be saved from the bottom a good 3-4 times and that’s being generous. I do think the bracket challenges were quite convenient for her, but she is an incredibly talented queen and good enough to win regardless. I think it felt like Jorgeous or Bosco’s time personally, but my life will go on, people on twitter are doing way too much and it is insane lol. Being frustrated is one thing but the hate and vitriol for a talented drag queen winning a drag show is out of this world. You’d think Kerri came back having skipped the merge and won the way they are going on

I think the finale was very Ginger-coded so it was rather boring? Ginger getting to choose the song twice and then the finale song being "It's Raining Men"? I could see Jorgeous giving up halfway through the lip sync lol

l didn't 100% agree with the lip sync wins. Honestly thought Daya was better than Bosco. Ginger vs Daya to "Raise Your Glass" would've been quite interesting and could see Daya beating Ginger.

Also thought Aja did slightly better than Jorgeous and should've went through. Although Jorgeous' lip sync of "Whenever, Whereever" was really great and probably one of my favourites of hers.

In terms of All Stars finales - this is probably the most boring/worst one? Not to take away from Ginger as I agree she won all her lip syncs and her last lip sync was really good.

Hopefully production will learn a little from the fan backlash for the casting of the next season.

Hoping Ginger will be on an All Winners season at some point - All Winners 3 would be the good choice if we get to a 3rd season. Hopefully AW2 will happen soon - perhaps as early as next year!

Really enjoyed just 2 lipsyncs in finale!!!

What an unceremonious and terrible finale. Can we please retire the LaLaPaRuza for the crown immediately? 8 queens in the final? It doesn't work.

No final runway or returning queens (NPBFAG!), and perhaps the most predictable LaLaPaRuza in the history of the show — just boring television and a disservice to the queens.

I am desperate for them to build on what they did during the Season 12 finale or somehow rejig the talent show into something more substantial for a finale. Keep the lip sync between the final two, but let each queen showcase what makes them special. Give them a budget! Anything else!

If they're keeping this format, then they should have three brackets with two queens going forward, and then six down to four for the final. No non-present judges randomly choosing the just eliminated queen. If they're desperate for a LaLaPaRuza, then have the eliminated queens do one to get the final spot in the semi-finals and then go seven down to five. It would also give those girls another episode of screen time. It was a waste of time having Kerri reappear for five seconds and then get booted immediately.

I do think the brackets turned out to be a good idea, but an idea that needs tweaking. It was also great to see so many queens showcased — NPBFAG especially — which is why it sucked not having them there at the final 🖤

A talent show finale would be great I think, across all countries, spin offs etc, I do find finales almost always feel anticlimactic. The live ones are definitely better as they feel like more of a spectacle, and I like the US regular season with the finalists all getting an original song performance.

I feel like a finale should be a talent show so each queen gets to do whatever represents them best. That might be a lipsync but they could also sing or dance or whatever is most “them”, rather than their crowning coming down to a few arbitrary songs that may or may not resonate or fit with them. The Lalaparuza could have just been, like with normal seasons, out of the eliminated queens for a She Done Already Had Herses prize instead of the actual crown.

Alongside a longer merge (maybe add a Ball and a Rumix so there’s comedy, performance and looks challenges), I think that would have helped this season. Daya, Bosco, Lydia or even Irene i think would contend for a Ball and a Rumix would probably be Jorgeous or Aja, maybe Daya, so that would add some variety to the wins and highs as well. Plus in a Ball Ginger would likely get a bottom 2 vulnerability moment which would add some kind 9f journey instead of just smashing everything. I did like the bracket format I just think the merge was a bit rushed, they could have added say 3-4 more episodes and had more screen time and a variety of challenges for the merged queens. Jorgeous, Irene and Daya I felt were pretty invisible in the merge and maybe a couple more episodes would have helped that.

Ginger definitely deserved the win given her performance through all the challeneges. My issue with it is her All Star story into a winner just isn't that interesting. I feel like other queens who won on their third time (Jimbo, Rajah, Lemon) had a big journey across the multple season that made them finally winning very satisfying. Whereas Ginger had reached the final having done amazingly well twice already. At least Jorgeous had improved each time she returned and so would have been a more satisfying winner to me.

The hatred towards Ginger has got way out of hand. I hope she sues that Poo Crave account on Twitter for that tweet.

yea i have nothing against ginger i just dont think she should have been cast. had they put any other queen in her place we could have had a genuinely exciting and competitive season with multiple possible winners à la AS2, but instead we got a boring, predictable finale to what was otherwise a really good and promising season.

also yes PLS next time extend the merge and give us a final 4/3. nobody other than ginger / jorgeous / bosco had time to establish themselves as contenders.
