Posted May 4May 4 "I can't believe news sources care about this." In the world of K-pop, stans are constantly fighting to have their group come out on top, spamming ratings online, putting up pictures of their chosen artists, botting their streams and just making their whole personality about a Korean who most likely makes generic radio music and has done some goofy TikToks.Today we travel to the world that's more unhealthy than a Nickado Avocado mukbang, the world of crazy stans. In 2023 SEVENTEEN released a music video for 'Super', which involved a scene where there are multiple others standing on a red carpet with some darkish house in the background. After that Aespa released their "DRAMA" music video in 2023, which featured a similar scene of them standing on a red carpet with a black background (the positions of how they were standing and the backgrounds were different, though.) But this drama didn't really start until KATSEYE dropped the music video for their song "Gnarly" this week, where they stood on a red carpet with a black background (there were people in the background, and the pose was different, unlike in the Aespa one). The carpet also seems to be slightly longer. Now, you see where I'm going with this: KATSEYE is being accused of copying, but Aespa is being accused of copying Seventeen, all because of a red carpet and a black background which wasn't even iconic to anyone. Now, it does look similar, I admit, but it's not that big of a deal… but it's too late… news starts picking up the story instantly. The K-pop community is losing it… but wait? There's a twist. The BLACKPINK fans enter the fight and accuse Aespa of actually copying them! And I know you think, "Why?" Well, they believe that because JENNIE wore a red hat and blazer and someone in Aespa wore a similar one. But I honestly don't know who to point fingers at because the K-pop industry is just the same; everyone there not only pulls off the same looks but also makes the same-sounding music, similar videos and similar career choices. Please, PLEASE, tell me why you Stan who you Stan out of the millions and MILLIONS of other K-pop groups which sound and look the same inside and outside of music. Now, I'm not saying all K-pop is bad, my most played song of 2022 and 2023 was a K-pop song, but I don't go to sleep at night angry at other K-pop bands or wish I could belly dance with Jungkook. Like, bro, I ain't with that creepy crush stan thing. I've heard really disturbing stories of K-pop band members apparently receiving period pads, like these people don't deserve to be treated as badly as Meg from Family Guy. The things that these members are being sent are more disturbing than your average C.ai chat. OK, but in all seriousness, stop that nonsense. Anyways, we went off topic; we are talking about the red carpet drama, which hopefully blows over after a few more days.
