Posted April 8, 200619 yr I always find it strange when Danesh is added. I know that some of you like to see both names but to me he's 'Darius'......just 'Darius' I would like to see just Darius on the forum....what do you all think?
April 8, 200619 yr I prefer Darius Danesh, I think he's likely to be taken more seriously as a singer/songwriter (& actor) using both names. I wouldn't be surprised if he does use both in the future on CD's, I hope so.
April 8, 200619 yr I always find it strange when Danesh is added. I know that some of you like to see both names but to me he's 'Darius'......just 'Darius' I would like to see just Darius on the forum....what do you all think? Musically, so far he is known as just 'Darius' - i.e. on his CDS, website etc... and it's really his music that I'm interested in most of all ... so 'Darius' feels right to me in that respect. There are a few Darius's in the music industry though and perhaps the addition of 'Danesh' would distinguish him from the others, however I also think that the sole name of 'Darius' returns and results in more search material, which is sometimes a good thing for Darius - when people find him accidently by searching for a different Darius ... I'm wondering if adding 'Danesh' would limit that search advantage in some way? - More recently, Darius has been referred to as 'Darius Danesh' more often, I'm not sure whether it's because it suited his role as an actor/singer in Chicago better, or whether it's evolved for a different reason; but you don't generally have actors referred to by a single name - do you? But whatever the reason, the name 'Darius Danesh' does seem to have been appearing more often to me. I don't know  - I'm personally comfortable with either I think - as I know him both, as just 'Darius' and as 'Darius Danesh' - i.e. I know that both names mean the same Darius to me - if that makes sense  :P I think maybe this could go in an 'up against the wall thread' Pam ;) :D - I'd be most happy to refer to him in the way he would wish to be referred to - but I don't know the answer to that yet ....
April 8, 200619 yr I notcie he goes for Darius on his CDs and as a singer, but on the songwriters site he is down as darius Danesh, perhaps a more formal approach for th esongwriting side,
April 8, 200619 yr I have always wished he was known by his full name. Its much more adult, more in keeping with the way he should be going. Darius is his name but the persona that is linked with just that name on its own is a million miles away from where he is now. I hope he uses his surname from now on.
April 8, 200619 yr I remember he seemed quite chuffed at one time when it first became apparent that he was 'known' simply by his first name - 'Darius' - in the sense of other artists being known by a single name/not needing a surname to define who it was etc... But I also wonder if he chose to just go by the name of 'Darius' without the Danesh part, to keep his public persona somewhat separate from his personal identity and to perhaps sheild his family to an extent? ... particularly after the negative/press attention etc... following PopStars - I don't know - just a thought :) edit: Not saying that necessarily applies now - just thinking about how the name 'Darius' may have initially come about. April 8, 200619 yr sorry double post - got an internal service error and didn't realise the post had gone through  Edited April 8, 200619 yr by Secret_Song
April 8, 200619 yr I notcie he goes for Darius on his CDs and as a singer, but on the songwriters site he is down as darius Danesh, perhaps a more formal approach for th esongwriting side, I imagine you might need or have to have your full name on songwriting registries etc... I've sometimes noticed that 'Deni Lew' is on those as Denise Lewis. But I'm fairly sure, that on the albums Dive In and Live Twice - that the writing credits for Darius are just 'Darius' and yet, I'm fairly convinced that more recently I've noticed credits written as 'Darius Danesh' on some? CDS - can't think which/where I think I saw that just now though? ... will have to have a look through the CDS to see if I've imagined that or not  It might mean something or nothing at all ... :P :D
April 9, 200619 yr Author I think maybe this could go in an 'up against the wall thread' Pam ;) :D - I'd be most happy to refer to him in the way he would wish to be referred to - but I don't know the answer to that yet .... good idea....just need to fix a date to get the answers
April 9, 200619 yr I am equally comfortable with both variants, but if I had to choose, I would probably go with the surname attached. It is just a slight departure from his press bashing past, and would seem to suggest, he's all grown up now :D Not that he was ever shorter than 6ft 3" since I have first seen him anyway :D
April 10, 200619 yr I don't mind either way. I quite liked seeing Darius Danesh on the Chicago posters etc. I think that was the right decision. Darius alone would have looked out of place on the cast list. If he decides to do any more acting, I think he should use his surname. Ditto for songwriting. One problem is that some journos still can't get a simple name like Danesh correct. I hate it when I get letters with strange spellings of my name and mine's a more complicated one.
April 10, 200619 yr Interesting arguments for both sides. I'm undecided, I think I would have to agree with SS's post- whichever he would prefer (anyone like to ask him ^_^ )

But for here and his singing I really like the idea of just 'Darius' :D
April 10, 200619 yr When he was the Richard Hillman show he introduced Darius as one of the few people great enough to use just one name. But I dont mind either just as long as we see him soon.
April 10, 200619 yr Richard Hillman show? Bit risky that, even for a guy who seems fearless standing on the edge of skyscrapers. Do you mean tiny cute Richard Hammond? Darius was so funny on that show.
April 10, 200619 yr  Its my age Baytree I am always doing that lately  I did mean Richard Hammond Edited April 10, 200619 yr by darius dreamer

They say Darius Danesh. Edited April 11, 200619 yr by davinza80
April 11, 200619 yr So they do. Err.... why does the single have Darius Danesh as last credit on Kinda Love but the album has Darius as first credit? Does anyone have keener musical ears than me? If there's a reason, it must be something to do with the music because the lyrics sound the same to me.
April 11, 200619 yr didn't Meg bring this up some time back and was told it was an error, and that Darius was correctly gvien 1st credit on the album - as long as he got due royalties from the single!
