I was gifted my cd player from my dad for Christmas 2016 (aged 10 ) so had a handful of his albums to listen to (Fleetwood Mac - the dance the most notable and I’d say that album is what got me into enjoying music!) then in summer 2017 I discovered the cd player had radio and started listening to capital, so I listened to their big top 40 and sf the time they did a hot 7 at 7pm every weeknight, and I had a notebook where I would write each nights hot 7 and then the Sundays top 40! Kept doing this well into 2021. May 2021 the Elton John Years and Years version of it’s a sin reached their number 1 which baffled me as although I enjoyed the song it didn’t feel like a number 1 and I looked it up and found the occ website by mistake. At first I thought it was crazy that body by tion Wayne was officially number 1, and then I looked into it and realised this was a proper chart and the big top 40 was kinda just made up 🤣🤣 I was recommended Buzzjack by Piran as we’d made friends through crownnote, found the Friday thread and followed along the week good 4 u reached number one, I visited intermittently until October when I made my account and that is my backstory😂😂
