Posted January 18, 200718 yr I saw Morrissey for the first time on 23rd December 2006. Before i found it impossible to get tickets :( Shame the Smiths broke up a year before i was born aswell
January 18, 200718 yr I saw The Smiths on the infamous Queen Is Dead tour... at the gig in Newport, South Wales, that ended in a full-scale riot. I was standing at the front and, 6 songs in, Morrissey leaned over and shook hands with the front row.... alongside me were some drunken football louts who were (for some mindboggling reason) shouting abuse at the band? When they caught Moz's hand they pulled him off-stage then proceeded to kick the living daylighhts out of him..... their tour manager eventually came flying over into the fight and all hell broke loose...... they dragged a bruised Morrissey back onstage and off to the side and, after the lights coming up and the police arriving, Grant Showbiz appeared to say Moz wouldn't be re-appearing as he was concussed.... that's when everything went crazy.... monitors pulled off the stage, instruments, lights, people fighting... chaotic mayhem.... which made the papers next day. I've seen Moz a few times solo, too, the best being his set at Glastonbury a few years ago which, despite the drizzle, was incredible, especially There is a Light That Never Goes Out which, when I looked around me, had everyone with tears in their eyes with lighters aloft. Brilliant live performer, second to none, really.
January 18, 200718 yr My birthday, The Smiths and Morrissey: While I was busy getting of my mom, the smiths were breaking up, August 1987, so I never got the chance to see them. :( I saw Morrissey last year in my Birthday and I loved it. :)

January 20, 200718 yr I forgot to say but I manage to grap a piece of one of his shirts :) everybody was pulling at first but then they calm down and we politely (it was politely for a concert) divided the shirt between us. :)

January 24, 200718 yr HI I have seen MOZ 10 times: 24-02-1995 = London Brixton Academy 15-11-1995 = Wembley Stadium 10-12-1997 = Battersea Power Station 18-12-2004 = Earl's Court 18-04-2006 = Salford 11-05-2006 = Blackburn 12-05-2006 = Liverpool 21-05-2006 = London Palladium 28-05-2006 = London Palladium 08-12-2006 = Wembley Arena I have been lucky enough to shake MOZ's hand three times and take a few pictures with his musicians on the ROTT tour. Every gig is different and has its special place in my heart. I had tickets for the gig in Birmingham too, but because of the mini tornado in London I couldn't make it.

March 20, 200718 yr i got to see Morrissey last year in Birmingham it was awesome i love him :D i have pics if anyone wants to see them ;) *wanders off to find the website link for the pics*
March 21, 200718 yr Saw him in December at the SECC Glasgow, and he was much better than I had anticipated! I was unconvinced that his own material would stand up to the Smiths' material. However, the Smiths songs he did perform (besides How Soon Is Now and the encore Please, Please...), were far from the highlight of the night. I've never been that keen on Girlfriend In A Coma, despite it being a fans favourite, and I don't think Panic reaches it's full potential live. Definitely will make special efforts see him again, the only other band I can say that about is Radiohead - and I've yet to see U2.. :)
April 6, 200718 yr I've only seen him once, in Marlay Park in August last year 'twas an amazing concert. Three great opening acts and then Moz himself, I have the last ten songs on MP3 and listening really brings me back. I really have to see him again Edited April 6, 200718 yr by Shorty11857
