Posted April 8, 200619 yr Hope 'thisispop' doesn't mind me starting a new thread with this quote: You might want to click on the link for the 2002 Records Of The Year (below) & vote for Darius's Colourblind. ;) to get it into the Record Of The Decade Final. But I just thought, like me that some folk might not have seen 'thisispop''s Record of the Year comp in the Pop Forum HERE I'm sure he won't mind - as it means you visit the Pop Forum and vote in his thread ;) :D
April 8, 200619 yr When record of the year was on tv colourblind finished fourth BUT it was the only song in the top four that was not a cover but self penned so it certainly deserves to be there.
April 10, 200619 yr It's a bit off when we're the only people who are not allowed to express our true opinion because it doesn't correspond to other high posters' opinions. It's hardly our fault if those who think someone else has the best record of 2002 are too lazy to vote! I thought this place was better than the bullying CC but it seems it's latent just waiting to be awakened. I was making an effort to participate fully on a decent general music forum but that really sticks in my craw.
April 10, 200619 yr all you can do is vote as you see it, of course some will be purposely trying to appear oh so unbiased now, I cant see why poelpe are so touchy over a game? and I really don't understand the point of a poll it is obvious people will vote for a song they like, if they didnt think CB should get votes why include it? I happen to trully love that song, I don't imagine most voting there will have even listened to it properly to hear the lovely pipes and string arangements - perhaps they ought to hold polls but exclude fans from OF voting for their own artists songs!
April 10, 200619 yr I makes me want to puke to see the rubbish written on that thread. As I have just posted there, where are WY's crowd? When are the GG fans turning out to vote. As was said earlier, if others are too lazy to vote its not Darius's fans fault! In my political world, you do everything to get your voters out to the vote We are good at it, do we have to apologise because someone elses's fans are shiftless idle arses
April 10, 200619 yr Yeah, I can't believe people are getting in such a snit about it. If they spent half that energy on promoting it in their own artists fora they might see a result more to their liking -_-
April 10, 200619 yr Surely every OF has an electorate of at least 40? It's a load of tosh for them all to take a high moral stance and claim they are never partisan. They certainly were on CC. And what's this about counting skizzo's vote on Chartclarity. Are others on there being counted? I thought it was a vote for bj members.
April 10, 200619 yr They keep on about colourblind not being the best single but the question was to vote for your favourite and thats what I have done and what they could have done.
April 10, 200619 yr Did you really expect them to leave Darius and us alone, :( it didnt take long for people to have a nasty dig. surely as a fan his music is bound to be our favourite :o Edited April 10, 200619 yr by darius dreamer

I wouldn't hold your breath, waiting for many of Gareth's fans to vote on this poll. Most of them don't bother with forum's like this. They tend to stick to Gareth's own site. Very wisely when you see the way people react to true loyal fans, who support the artist they like up to the hilt :) I also thought this site was going to be a bit better than CC but I'm not so sure now. Its just like a pot waiting to boil over. And only a matter of time I fear :(
April 10, 200619 yr To be fair to Phil and bj, I think this place IS a much friendlier forum. Can you remember the first week of the Darius forum on CC - filth and abuse rolling in constantly from what always turned out to be early teen years boys and tanyya firefighting every day. We survived that and when they knew we weren't going to roll into meek balls, they soon tired of their little games. I understand too that there are a lot of members on here who genuinely can't fathom why anyone would like Darius just as there are lots of artists I just don't get but I don't think they need to make out that there's some big conspiracy or that we're cheating just because we express support for him in the main forums. My top record of 2002 was Rushes but it isn't on the list. There are only half a dozen other songs that meant anything to me but I still played their game and listed a top 20. val4jadan, You are always welcome here. I can understand most Gareth fans just wanting to talk about someone who means a lot to them in peace but then again, I feel you should be allowed to do that on a general music forum like bj too.
April 10, 200619 yr hi, val, nice to see you here, I think we all know where you are coming from on that one, lets hope it keeps fairly peaceful, and yes, I would have voted Rushes too, it wasnt on the list! hard to decide which would have been my favourite! April 10, 200619 yr I loved a lot of the records from that year - some remain among my favorites but, none of the ones gave me more pleasure than 'Colourblind'. I loved the excitement and then finding one of the best b sides 'Chyrsalis to Butterfly', made it perfect.

Thanks for the welcome. Same for me, If `What My Heart Wants To Say' had of been on the list I would have voted for that one. It still tugs at my heart even now after all this time. Anyway back to Darius. I really do think Colourblind was one of the best tracks on that list. I can still remember the first time I saw the video on the music channels. I loved it.
