August 20, 200618 yr Author Just been reading US reviews for this on IMDB and they're mostly 9 or 10 out of 10.I'll see what UK audiences say about it then. have you been reading the messgae board over at imdb. not only has it been some of the best comedy over the last few months  but there has been a campaign to make it the top rated film ever

August 22, 200618 yr Author Watching it atm its BRILLIANT :cheer: Yes, funniest film i've seen in a long while!!!  i was so totally happy that i saw this after Nacho Libre as it would have been an anti-climax the other way round. Nacho Libre had a lot of sniggers and made me smile, but this was laugh out loud fun. Some of the funniest horror death scenes in a since... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d1/AKebbel.jpg her on the toliet (you know)  and to all those people, who have said well the plots a bit far fetched, it will never happen, well think they are slightly missing the point, it's right up there with Xander Berkeley getting nuked or Elisha Cuthbert being chased by a cougar  I suppose they will have to rule out and planes with snakes plots now for season 6, 7 or 8   http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/8d/24_Promo.JPG

August 25, 200618 yr Was it actually good then? :o Very! I'd recommend it. The funny thing is, I literally had to drag my friend in there because she was convinced it would be c**p, and when it ended she says "that was actually better than I expected".

August 25, 200618 yr I wouldn't recommend it if you don't like snakes or if you're a bit squeamish, but it's enjoyable. Im fine with either, but Lisa hates snakes big time, so I wont see it.
August 26, 200618 yr I think a lot of the hype surrounding this film is uttely ludicrous. Yes, it is a fun enough movie, yes it pretty much does what it says on the tin, but to claim that it's somehow a 'great' film is totally stupid. It's a 6 out of 10 film if ever there was one, the whole idea of someone putting snakes on a plane to silence a witness when surely a well-placed explosive device would do the job much more efficiently is utterly preposterous, and the ONLY reason you buy into it is because of Samuel L Jackson playing it totally straight (a' la Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing in many an equally silly Hammer Horror film) - no post-modernist nods and winks to the camera, the man believes this bullsh!t and he makes the audience believe it too. Just why the hell this man has not had an Oscar by now is almost as unbelievable as the plot of this film.... WITHOUT JACKSON, THIS FILM WOULD DIE ON ITS ARSE!!!

Surely it would be easier to smuggle snakes onto a plane (herpetological delivery?) than a bomb though? Although I totally agree with you on Samuel's lack of an Oscar - disgraceful.

I watched it the other night, I loved it as an entertainment spectacle, its a typical no brains popcorn action flick, its entertaining in the Armageddon type sense where reality just goes out the window and it a testosterone action flick, no one should take the movie seriously as a plot or anything. Jackson is an OUTSTANDING actor though
August 26, 200618 yr no one should take the movie seriously as a plot or anything. Jackson is an OUTSTANDING actor though Problem is though mate, if you look on the Net there are very MANY people who are actually taking this film a lot more seriously than the film merits. You are correct in your assessment of it being a no-brainer pop-corn action flick, the problem is, too many nerds on IMDb are taking it seriously as a film....
