This is out on Friday but they are asking which drop to choose. I'm liking the sound of this one more than Tell Me Where You go which ended up being rather forgettable. The second drop is sounding a little better to me.

The live versions of the tracks they played at the Brits week show with more of the strings had so much potential, but the final production hasn't done them justice.

I'm still hopeful the Gracey and Dyo songs will be as good as they sounded then when they are eventually released.

Never let commercial mainstage/Golden Era DJs touch afrobeats singers again.

Don't think I've ever saved any afrohouse/afrodance song where the lead artist isn't even known for making that kind of music (except that Topic x Daecolm hit).

I don’t think I’ll be into Clean Bandit's music anymore ☹️

They've barely produced anything worth listening to in about 7 years, and even then they were verging on self-parody territory.

I think for me they sounded so fresh in 2016 because they essentially were doing what others were doing, but with more melody and emotion, and the orchestral additions.

The 2016 charts and dominant sound were, however AWFUL so they were kind of the best of a bad bunch, and this is the sound they have chosen to stick to. Thankfully everyone else has moved on from that tired tropical/high pitched synths genre but they are still peddling stuff that could have fit in those years, and it's a musical era I'd rather forget. Plus somewhere along the line they lost the X Factor that they had and just became generic - if the songs were as good as Rockabye and Symphony then I'm not sure I'd mind as much, but the melodies and emotion have just gone. It's such a shame, as I dearly loved them.

Their debut album still remains their best body of work as they weren't copying anyone, it was so original. In a time where house music was dominating dance music they came through with something fresh; I genuinely believe if something similar to their debut was released that perhaps it would hold up quite well? Rather Be has definitely stood the test of time and doesn't sound dated/tired at all (even if you can't stand Jess Glynne ha).

I don’t know what happened to them for the songs to reduce in quality so drastically. It makes sense that Cry Baby, which was half decent, was originally made back in 2020.

Has this track not been released by Sony (B1/MOS)? It only appears under the Clean Bandit Records label. So are they independent now? 😅
