New Bjork LP on the way

Virgin Net

Icelandic singer Bjork is busy working on her new album, with collaborators including Antony Hegarty and music producer Timbaland.

Bjork's "official correspondent", Meester Fly, wrote on her website, Bjork.com: "She has been all around the world to record, working with numerous people from truly different backgrounds."

Meester Fly revealed that the singer had teamed up with Timbaland on two tracks: "They met for a couple of sessions and laid down some beats for two tracks, "then I took these tracks and worked on them further", says Bjork. This is true, as I hear that she has taken them to another level."

Bjork's other collaborators include Antony and the Johnsons singer Antony Hegarty, who duets on two tracks, drummer Chris Corsano, Toumani Diabate, Konono nr.1 and Brian Chippendale from Lightning Bolt.

The new album, which is currently untitled, is set for release in the late spring and will be the follow-up to 2004's 'Medulla'.

Anybody interested about her collaborating with Timbaland?

no as it seems he'll collaborate with anybody.

so i suppose the handclaps and yelps from the last 'bodymusic' (???) inspired alb is off with a return to instruments?

love Bjork as I do, she desperately needs people around her to reign in her more silly ideas... like the last few albums. Yes, she has her faithful following who'd buy an album of her fart noises - but there's no getting away from the fact that she's blown any mainstream success she once had.

She needs reminding that an album can only be recorded when you've actually written some songs for it first - the chronically self-indulgent nonsense that was Medulla... well, if I was her I'd be ashamed... it was, at best, laughable, at worst, unlistenable.

I can't wait to hear the Antony collaboration, though....and her working with Timbaland seems to signal a return to a more structured sound, which, when you're Bjork, can only be a good thing.

you got ys?

I have, yes... in my top 5 albums of last year.... the other album of hers is good, too....

I'm intrigued by the Timbaland collaborations, I know she'll somehow manage to come up with such a unique sound whilst using Timbaland.

Now Bjork is going to be a hip hop artist?! :D

Is really Timbaland such a great producer? ;)
