Posted August 20Aug 20 10th August 2025It's Miley Cyrus rising to the top for a 5th time, this one being stomping album track Walk Of Fame, which really should be a huge hit, poor Miley is being unfairly under-rated with this album. Brittany Howard grabs her first chart hit, the former singer of Alabama Shakes going solo since the band split in 2018. Armin van Buuren meanwhile is on his third top 10 of the year, with Seafret getting a first, and KT Tunstall her first in 20 years or so. The late Avicii has already had a posthumous number one, Let's Ride Away adding to his total of top 10's and emotional dance bangers with the help of Elle King, who has already had solo top 10's and previous collabs.Doechii finally gets a late entry with Anxiety, her Gotye sampling hit, after I heard it a few times on holiday in the Canaries last week. I always liked it but never got round to buying it till now, entering at 71 with runner-up entering being Rita Ora's new dance tune Joy at 80 for 13 years of charting. Louise is showing no sign of letting up on her run of new chart entries, as new goodie Only Dancer is her 3rd of 2025. Her 32 years of charting makes Rita look like a young upstart. Veteran Cascada make it two in 2025, in a collab with YouNotUs on Beautiful Odyssey. Meanwhile Michael Buble doesn't usually trouble my charts much, but Higher sounded good on Radio 2 the other day, it's off his 2022 album, and Bryan Adams sneaks a 4th track of the year into the bottom end - A Little More Understanding has some nice guitar riffs, and it's over 40 years since Run To You debuted. Contrary to popular opinion, I still think that's his best record in a long career. 1 2 1 4 WALK OF FAME - Miley Cyrus featuring Brittany Howard 3622002 1 1 9 TOKYO RAIN - Loaded Honey 8080003 4 3 11 ZOMBIE LADY - Damiano David featuring Dove Cameron 3599004 5 3 5 HARD TO BE HAPPY - Rob Thomas 2394005 3 1 9 OVER - Loaded Honey 6557506 6 1 13 DON’T SPEAK - Loaded Honey 7489007 7 7 3 RAG DOLL - The Four Seasons 1500008 15 8 7 LET IT BE FOR LOVE - Armin van Buuren featuring JAI RYU 1156009 20 9 4 FIVE MORE SECONDS - Seafret featuring KT Tunstall 8625010 18 10 11 LET’S RIDE AWAY - Avicii featuring Elle King 17825011 17 11 5 BROKEN GAME - Finn Forster 11170012 8 5 12 GLAD - Saint Etienne 41610013 16 13 4 JUPITER - almost monday featuring Jordana 9280014 10 1 13 RUN WITH U - Mamagama 95100015 14 1 22 SUNSET BLVD - Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco 125590016 9 9 13 I SAW THE MOUNTAINS - Noah Cyrus 27415017 19 17 3 DAWN (GO AWAY) - The Four Seasons 6140018 32 18 3 C’MON MARIANNE - The Four Seasons 5700019 23 19 8 GOLD - Myles Smith 11725020 46 20 3 12 TO 12 - sombr 3515021 28 21 5 NO TIME TO TALK - The Jonas Brothers 7395022 26 22 4 POISON VINE - Cast featuring P.P. August 20Aug 20 Wow, John! 😎 Some big movers and fresh entries this week. “Zombie Lady” holding strong at #3 is insane, and Avicii’s “Let’s Ride Away” is climbing nicely too. I love seeing “12 To 12” by sombr breaking into the top 20—such a vibe! New entries like Doechii’s “Anxiety” and Rita Ora’s “Joy” are exciting; curious to see how they perform in the coming weeks. Also, Alex Warren is everywhere with “Bloodline” and “On My Mind”—he’s really dominating right now. Great chart as always, can’t wait to see next week! 🔥
August 21Aug 21 Hey John! What a great climb for 12 to 12. Amazing track honestly.Manchild unfortunately falling. I'm loving it so much despite it's run on my chart.Better Davis eyes is of course a classic. I love it.Sports car is brilliant. I regret not charting it now at all. She really took off this era for sure.I'm not a fan of joy at all. If anything it's a massive step down from what for me and potentially one of her worst tracks ever.Beautiful Odyssey is of course a banger. Absolutely smashing and really nostalgic feeling to it.Fab stuff! 😄

Maybe Loaded Honey can climb again 🙏Armin and Avicii Top 10, Sombr Top 20, Elliot James Reay ❣️ Top 30, Ed Sheeran and The Sugababes Top 40 Best new entries bubbling under: Louise (Redknapp) and Rita Ora 👍

It's always good when fresh songs edge out faves hanging around 😎Keeps things interesting! Alex Warren is certainly having a major year this year globally pretty much, and he seems to be able to vary his hits a bit in sound which I like to see!cheers! 😎

Ooh glad you love Bette Davis Eyes, and its not too late for Sports Car, I was about 3 months late, and Michael Buble is about 4 years old. Better late than never! 😄Joy, now I'm playing it more, is a bit schizophrenic, it has quite a low-key unmemorable verse and a major upbeat chorus. It's like it needs a facelift to properly connect, or a dance remix of the chorus with an instrumental section, or drop/bridge. Yes Beautiful Odyssey is a choon! Thanks for the recommendation 🙂Cheers! 😎
