Three years since the Kanjuruhan tragedy, we Indonesians are witnessing the brutality of our own police institution. An armored car just hit two motorcycle taxi riders this evening. One of them has been announced dead, named Affan Kurniawan. His death might not have been the same as George Floyd's five years ago, but we are trying our best to spread his name around the world. 🥀

The late fourth Indonesian president (also one of my favorite figures), Abdurrahman Wahid, once said:

"Only three honest police officers have ever existed (in Indonesia): police statues, sleeping policemen [speed bumps], and General Hoegeng.”

Once again, I sincerely apologize if the thread I started is considered unnecessary or disturbing. Maybe the mods can give a suggestion on whether to make a general ACAB thread or keep it specific to one event, because it's no longer deniable this institution is far worse than the government itself.

Honestly, I would have been going to to a cosplay con this evening for a healing after three exhausting weeks, but the situation doesn't seem to be safe. Many event holders have cancelled their events today, and the con might be too later.
