Ed’s never been a critical darling! The reviews for Play are par for the course.

Metacritic:

67 + (9 reviews)

67 x (20 reviews)

65 - (14 reviews)

62 ÷ (17 reviews)

62 Autumn Variations (6 reviews)

61 Play (4 reviews)

59 = (13 reviews)

57 No 6 Collaborations Project (14 reviews)

All of these are yellow numbers, denoting “mixed or average reviews”.

  • I bought Jade’s album because my local Asda gives you 3 hours free parking if you spend £5 or more there. They do that because it’s next door to my local shopping centre where you have to pay to park.

  • Off course ya did, which is why you was calling it a flop this morning even before the sales came out

I’ll never forget the time Digital Spy originally gave Gaga’s The Fame 3 stars, only to quietly upgrade it to 5 once Gagamania was in full swing. 🥲

That's not too dissimilar to how I was trying to get my friends into her in late 2008 before she broke through, and they were like "meh, she's average". Suddenly they LOVED her a few months later when she was big. Feckin' bandwagon jumpers!

People had enough of the cheesy copycat music

Neil McCormick of The Telegraph said of Sheeran: "There is something cheesy at his core, a tendency towards triteness, easy rhymes, obvious chord progressions and cliched sentimentality."

Sales will 100% drop off a cliff next week #CheesyFad

Oh god we are quoting the Telegraph now, even further to the right than the Murdoch press.

Really though, Is there any need for a post clearly aimed at causing division, if I posted something similar if I scrapped the barrel and found an average review for the last Dua Lipa album you wouldn’t be pleased. I wouldn’t do that though because I get people have different opinions and in BJ especially it would cause offence.

If you lived in the same town as me, you’d know what I was on about. The free parking bit

Is it too soon to use the picture again 🤣

But surely a moderator should know better 🤷

What’s so funny about that?

Disappointed Kali Uchis & Ravyn Lenae haven’t made it into the chart. Such a beautiful song.

I seen the collab and was intrigued as the current Kali Uchis album is pretty decent. First time I’ve heard it, thanks for posting it, decent song.
