I imagine Ed will likely be on around 70k by the end of the week so to be close to the biggest pop act on the streaming market in the last year is no mean feat. I'd say he is doing just fine.

We all know Taylor gonna smash the records anyway but its the 3rd or 4th biggest open of the year up to this point so still has a chance of ending the year as 1 of the top 10 biggest opening weeks so far from a flop however you try and move the narrative 🤣🤣 so yes he doing absolutely fine 🙌

  • I bought Jade’s album because my local Asda gives you 3 hours free parking if you spend £5 or more there. They do that because it’s next door to my local shopping centre where you have to pay to park.

  • Get those car parking validation sales Jade

  • Off course ya did, which is why you was calling it a flop this morning even before the sales came out

Thought ed was gonna do a Coldplay nd have huge numbers just cos of the tour tix pre-sales but alas... terrible sales all things considered imo

the tour collection will probably be ahead of Play next week at this rate, maybe then the occ will change the rules about GHs finally

All things considered he’s on for the 2nd or 3rd fastest seller of the year, terrible indeed 🤣

If Jade hits 20k by the end of the week and (hopefully) charts at #3, will that be the highest selling #3 position of the year? It's quite frustrating her label chose such a competitive week to release when the album has been ready for quite some time now, given it leaked at the start of the year.

JADE's single is just Unconditional not Unconditional Love and Feeder's album Comfort in Sound is a re-entry (peaked at #6 in 2002)

Also, JADE's album is That's Showbiz Baby

Not a bad start for JADE, likely to fall to #4 and hoping she can get close to 20k sales but feel she'll miss out.

Also not bad for Ed - should clear 70k which isnt a massive come down from him previous album (not including Autumn Variations)

Music week have listed it as a new entry, the reasons for this are probably known only to them.

Good to see Addison back in the top 20 at the moment thanks to the Blood Records vinyl pressing of the album!

My assumption is that it's because Echo was the label the album was originally released under, the remaster has been released under BMG.

Echo is now defunct, but it's parent label The Echo Label Ltd is now owned by BMG... So, it's kinda on the same label anyway...

OCC are not helping with the enigma on the mids either, as they've listed it as a re-entry:

Screenshot_2025-09-16-10-31-35-74_40deb401b9ffe8e1df2f1cc5ba480b12.jpg

But then, OCC have also listed it as 103 WOC, when it would only be on its 67th this week:

Screenshot_2025-09-16-10-34-50-13_40deb401b9ffe8e1df2f1cc5ba480b12.jpg

I assume 103 takes into account any weeks in the Top 200 (when they existed)... Feels bizarre that the Top 200 weeks are given in the update OCC entry, but not the final album chart entry!

All the confusion! Glad it's generating some discussion for my all time favourite band though. 🤣🙈

Top 200 chart still exists for albums! It is curious that OCC gives additional weeks info in some but not all charts though.

Albums - Tuesday

01 Ed Sheeran - Play (59,339)

02 Twenty One Pilots - Breach (17,233)

03 JADE - That’s Showbiz Baby! (16,973)

04 Sabrina Carpenter - Man’s Best Friend (11,595)

05 Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Perimenopop (7,896)

(That's everything for today)

Jade coming for number 2 her label screwed her releasing this week, (sabrina might still catch though)

Number 1 isn’t everything I’m just made up that the sales look so healthy today! Literally buzzing because 12k seemed low.

It wasn’t looking likely she was going to make the top 3 but hopefully she can overcome 21P tomorrow and then if Sabrina overtakes she’ll still be 3 which is amazing in such a competitive week.

Edited by Mr. C. Joel

Number 1 isn't everything but she could have got it when she wanted to release it. Not her label wanted it who seem to have little faith in her. Wouldn't be surprised if she signs with a new one in the future.

8,300 downloads for Ed, that’s really high for downloads now is it not?

UK #1 Albums in 2025 - First Week Sales Breakdown / Chart Run Comparisons

The most downloads in a week this year - for a #1 album at least - is 5,895 for Those Damn Crows. So Ed has smashed that!

Interestingly Play has already outsold Subtract's first week download sales, which were 7,792.

Sales comparisions: "=" vs "-" vs "Autumn Variations"

Great increase for JADE, maybe she can reach 20k this week. Disappointing for Ed, but he should just about clear 70k. Needs to be selling more than 2k a day though

The most downloads of the year , what a flop 🤭
