Yesterday at 22:041 day Author ...and the one that will be the world's most difficult to read forum post ever... 😂One thing I have to point out that intrigued me is that Herbilore actually received one vote more than Summericia, despite the latter finishing 168 points ahead of it! I think @Herbs can count himself pretty unlucky that 18 voters only attracted 68 points.Summericia and FSR Rontvia were the clear faves for 18s with 7 and 6 respectively - as hinted before, Nelionoir actually only got 4 sets of points in the top 2, it's just they were really consistent so it's difficult to deny they really sent something that resonated with everyone, only Aeroche came close on voters with 33 to 35CountryArtist & TitleTotalEASCHEMOTLOOAJAPESJADDOBNELA-KOTAAGREFLJTERFSRELEFLYSEYL-DWAELBALSKAALTBOTJUPTHECORAESHUSUTOFARKATHENBROAERPOPSUEKLUTRIDANMACNEWCUMLOTHERZANPERREPSANWHYSUMSCOYEHVotes18s15s13s1NelionoirNight Tapes - storm32513912712151311159366128547712110137121213111131318186352252FSR RontviaARGO - Korku26981881878121018121118671011314315181018105266103Aerochesim0ne - space cadet261111110132256215199111137312767151889481126710331224SummericiaAvery Cochrane - Shapeshifting On A Saturday Night2361315181813181018101515418618189177325AjanaedaNuovo Testamento - Dream On23118159673186189212371389121091236115253216FljotavikJoon Gloom - Joker21457101118108831357612518610181215358252117Cor LupusTsatsamis - Sweet Praise2142125510318139531113663121013531513415251248POPHubMagdalene - Lucky Girl201713121119147121583185612181592112232219KathaldaziaMERCY - POSSESSION19134618961211610111118139122114961082510110New LexicoYorke - airplane mode19124133113121815894104111111051312122211311CumulonimbiaDeki Alem - House Fire190111581311431123449991051110615411112502112UtopiaWater From Your Eyes - Playing Classics1909189121571286310911698187131921113DanaeviiaLevi.Sct - Technotude18618915151310131113985187126131822414SkallBubble Love - Double Caper18433118651013751121275928110413878152701215EledanNicolás Jaar - Aquí18311121531393741571815137211181823216AestheticaJae Stephens - Afterbody16989961881613884151251518241922117GreenfrozeKen Hirai - 19951636118918101512295331186114121921018CheironDaisy Grenade - Don’t Sweat It156271312153415121361381310911702419TaahinoAshnikko - Trinkets1568155102111518111111310451521713120JadakissniaS1RENA - DNA 1NTERLUDE / DNA15210131111815839810518173571821121HendiniaFrost Children - WHAT IS FOREVER FOR151651034313511751010111051238102000122FlynnondaBorderline - When It’s Raining150101071018541241312611518411721123Klum RepSwank Mami - Baddiez148168128411025181512469111511912024Rep d’AskorzaAstrid S - First To Go1451287851018111095410106121610025Altyr MuunilinstKrewella - Crying On The Dancefloor14376115241811135247151212451812126Trifoskiacloudyskye - Shoots14115145726101858971392510322011127ZanmatonyDan Deacon - Feel The Lightning14193529621148871313187791810228Pestoliaivri - tower of memories132771046815115104231512131603129Terra AviumFuture Utopia & Lava La Rue - The Pleasure Trap12446538213754111581156831801130LotuniaLuca Vasta - Santa Maria1221576419121471234113238192001031Land of DWLord Of The Lost & Within Temptation - Light Can Only Shine In The Darkness12210241249104121811137961610132SandeniaLØLØ - omg12011571310138182111391211333Why So SiriusYu - Geld1181444151815156968131313134BronzilFazerdaze - Motorway9811213108681825321631510135FARCSycco - Dribble92212211996571221141300036A-KonohagakurePhuture Noize - Hyperspace84123512731264238251400037AelandorPRXZM - Where We Started80541115682151851111038TheloniaYour Mate’s Ex - Disco Shift782531118157311931201039MothertopiaSamia - Lizard77552971831212311110040HerbiloreJulia Fox - Down The Drain6832431912611132115761800141SuedeoniaDucks Ltd. - Train Full Of Gasoline5212112157247110010
Yesterday at 22:051 day Author Oh okay buzzjack, why did you do that this time gah. Even though I quite like what you did there
Yesterday at 22:051 day Third time a past entrant of mine has gone on to win, just call me a tastemaker B-) Congrats blacksquare! I obviously can't complain despite cheapness, it's the highest points I've given to a winner this year and a great song from an amazing band (if I'm ever foraging with them again, I'll let them know x), although I must be honest it would've been really refreshing seeing an inspired winner like FSR Rontvia, shame they have to settle for 2nd again, but an impressive position for a song as alternative as that!Had a bit of a drought at the end, but 29th is fine by me (seemed to lose a few votes from the semi though, aww x). I've really been loving this song over the last few months and it's slowly evolving soundscape, but I was never sure how it would translate to BJSC as it's a bit of a slow burner and I hate seeing songs I love completely bomb so I kept hesitating to send it, so I'm just really pleased I can say that it connected with some like it did me, thanks all for voting <3From my other favourites, great to see Kathaldazia and Fljotavik make the top 10, would've loved for some of that stacked 11-15 section to make the top 10 but good placings for them all too. Only disappointment is my 18 doing so badly, we weren't kind to that sound what with Marika Hackman not making the final too </3Many thanks for the excellent hosting, dandy*! (and sorry for bombarding you with Shrike pictures x)
Yesterday at 22:061 day A UNIQUE POSITION I HAD NEVER HAD BEFORE. Can I finally finish at 4th and 6th to complete the set now? It’s been literally 17 years.
Yesterday at 22:071 day I am shocked! A rock song that I found on New Music Friday Türkiye which has under 100 YouTube views and under 4,000 Spotify streams is not what I would exactly call a recipe for a hit, so I'm astonished it came 2nd, even despite odds as high as 4th, I thought they were a bit generous. Thank you SO much for all the votes (including Scotland 2 at the end there) and especially all the 18s, that's amazing. I don't mind the way it was revealed @dandy*, I expected to fall further and delighted that I hung on for an 11th silver medal; our sixth since we last won and our fifth in just over three years. I'm not sure niche foreign lanugage songs like this are ever going to be the key to a win but that really wasn't the aim with a song like this, so it makes the result even more amazing. Quite a progression up from 6th in the semi too, thank you to the voters from the other semi for the bump!Neliönoir is a great winner, brilliant song and high up my vote and just continuing a spectacular year they are having.Great to see my two favourites in fourth and third, I'd heard Space Cadet before but didn't really think about it for BJSC, great ravey entry though and a deserved top three return for Aeroche! And Roba pulling another inspired pop discovery out for Summericia, I'd never heard that track or artist before. Ajanaeda and Fljótavík 5th and 6th means that my predicted clear top five in the odds all came in the top six, although not the right order, and the only song I vastly underpredicted was my own.Glad Skall did well in the end as that was a clear third favourite of mine but I wasn't sure how it would do.Thanks so much dandy* for very slick hosting and a really enjoyable contest with lots of great entries!
23 hours ago23 hr Yet another contest where my back-up choice beats me 🙈 So mad to see how few votes Avery Cochrane got compared to the competitors around it but how huge each vote it received was. I had an inkling it'd do well though! That's why I wanted it for myself. 😛Two back-to-back bookies faves for Ajanaeda and two back-to-back fifth place finishes. What are the odds of that! We've never had two top tens in a row though so we're chuffed with that. Thanks everyone who voted for Nuovo in this edition. We hope some people made a discovery from it even though they've done well with other songs in other contests on the forum.I haven't had a chance to read through yet but thank you for hosting, Dandy. It's been fun to visit Fljotavik!and I'm happy with the winner too. It really was a beautiful song that builds impeccably. It grew on me even further from semi final to final. I'm quite scared to go join him now.Goodnight all!
23 hours ago23 hr 12 out of 17 votes for Avery Cochrane being medal positions is pretty crazy...! Had not realised just how all or nothing that was proving and definitely not what I'd have predicted, it's odd to think that a song that sounds like it could be a mainstream hit (maybe moreso in 2010 than now but still) ended up smashing into the top 5 via very focused niche votes rather than wide appeal.
23 hours ago23 hr 18 minutes ago, Brer said:...and further mixed feelings with this now being the 2nd contest in the last 3 where a major fave of mine has finished 2nd! (Arguably a third in a row as I gave MISS LUXURY double digit points too). At least this time it wasn't as heartbreakingly close as f5ve. So thrilled to see 'Korku' doing so well anyway even if the early lead was too good to be true, I do predictably always stan entries in this style but even by that standard this one did strike me immediately as a potential all-timer so very happy to see it connecting strongly with so many others as well, also love to see it for such an obscure artist, I think I am actually going to drop a few pennies on an iTunes download for the song if for no other reason than I am a little concerned at the possibility of it becoming lost media at some point!(will comment further on results after I've dusted off my calculator so as ever no one be celebrating their exact position too hard just yet x)Glad you enjoyed it so much. Definitely do download it, I did too as I'm worried it will just be up for a year or something as they are so obscure indeed. The Summericia 17 votes with such a high score thing seems quite unique to me. You sometimes see niche genre songs doing that and mopping up all the 18s, but not usually pop. This song seemed very widely accessible and catchy to me but maybe that early Katy vibe is an acquired taste these days. I'm glad it got enough big support to finish in the top five. I've just never seen anything like it before where a pop entry gets seven 18s but only 10 other votes!
23 hours ago23 hr Great hostingCongrats to the winner. Great to see my 18 pointer do wellMaybe I should stick to anonymous contests....

23 hours ago23 hr New Lexico in the top 10 for the first time in (what feels like) DECADES despite literally nobody making any remarks about the song all contest, we stan an under the radar queen!
21 hours ago21 hr Have double checked the scoreboard and just the one correction... which shakes up the top 3 ...in opposite world that is, it's the bottom 3 that it affects. Skall's 11 should be to Suedeonia rather than Thelonia, still not enough for Ducks Ltd. to escape last place sadly but it does bring them a good bit closer to the pack. Thelonia drop 2 places to 40th, Mothertopia and Herbilore up a place each to 38th and 39th respectively. All other points and positions match with the image version of the final scoreboard although noting that the Taahino/Cheiron tiebreak should be the other way round in the table version! All the tiebreaks for posterity:Fljótavík beat Cor Lupus (25 votes each, 2 18s to 1)Kathaldazia beat New Lexico (25 votes to 22)Cumulonimbia beat Utopia (25 votes to 19)Taahino beat Cheiron (17 votes each, 1 18 to 0)Trifoski beat Zanmatony (20 votes to 18)Lotunia beat Land of DW (20 votes to 16)
21 hours ago21 hr Anyhoo - the top end of the scoreboard did drift a bit from my tastes by the end and I only voted for 4 of the top 10 but it has ultimately ended up feeling like a pretty nice genre balance. Happy with Aeroche returning to big hit status after exiting their generic era, Fljótavík pulling the same trick as République d'Áskorza did last month for me with their host entry actually getting points from me and getting a solid mid top 10 result and very pleased that Kathaldazia did just about squeak out a top 10, although would have been a fave for me taking up at least one of those last two top 10 spots almost no matter what it seems as the 11-15 section is packed full of bangers, all of them making my own top 10! Aw at Danæviia ending up missing the top 10 as I'm sure they were in there for quite a lot of the reveal, but still a pretty decent result for them in the end, also probably better results than I'd have predicted for Cumulonimbia and Elëdan. Utopia's sounded very Neliönoir-y to my ears so I had kind of hoped it was heading for a dark horse top 10 but not quite in the end! Also yay for a pretty solid midtable for Flynnonda (and seems I never needed to be worrying about it DNQing...!), then another little patch of my faves in the 26-30 section which I'd have liked to see doing better but can see why they didn't do so. Bottom 10 and sub 100 points definitely feels undeserved for Bronzil this time (even if I didn't help out much by contributing again to their ongoing small points issue whoops x) and it is a shame that Suedeonia came last but was still a charming presence in the final - it actually jumped up to my 2 points from just outside my top 10 on my relisten of semi 2 which I see was responsible for costing Bøtanikkä a spot in the final, sorry Addy and I'd have been missing out by only 2 points instead of 4....and I've just realised that I accidentally closed my spreadsheet without saving changes after adding all the votes in to double check the final scoreboard so I'm going to have to redo the whole thing before posting the new YTD update oops! Think that's my cue to go to bed rather than stay up any later working on spreadsheet stuff, I'll aim to redo that and get the YTD up tomorrow evening (not that there's much tension over who's going to be #1 )((and here's fair warning that I will delete any ragebait replies from Cody so please try to be normal x))
20 hours ago20 hr congrats blacksquare on the win, and I presume the EOY #1 is wrapped up! Definitely need you to host this upcoming contest bc the last time you hosted was fantastic 🤩I was getting a bit worried that the top 10 wouldn’t be to my liking but I ended up voting for a majority of it so thank goodness 😅 Summericia’s entry reminded me of Sabrina doing “Leave Before You Love Me” so glad that ended up doing so well, and really happy to see New Lexico in the top 10!Seeing Nuovo get top 5 is a bit of a 🥀 moment bc it means I could have done better under different circumstances so I’m disappointed with that, but glad to get a third top 10 this year and my first to cross 200 since Debbii Dawson (and more importantly GETTING HARRY’S 18), all of which I’m surprised by… guess I should learn to trust you guys more 😅 thanks to everyone who voted, I’ll be sure to pull from the archives more often in the future 🧡Krewella seems like the biggest robbery here, I thought that would end up in the top 10 💔 and thought Klum Rep would have done better as well 🥀Thanks Dandy for hosting and thanks to everyone for giving me a substantial playlist for my trip to Sacramento 🥰

16 hours ago16 hr Please with 18th, it seems like forever since I've had a top 20 😂 well done blacksquare! Thank you for the fab hosting Dandy x
16 hours ago16 hr I really had hope I'd get higher than 16th, but being on the top half of the table is good enough for me! I feel like if this contest didn't have so many high quality entries, I'd probably have done better. But regardless, thank you to everyone who gave Jae some points! She's such a young diva, I'm excited for her career. Congrats to Nelionoir, what a sawng! Thanks for hosting @dandy* ! Excited for the next contest, but I also have no clue what I'm sending next!
