American singer Knox has a landmark week following his first ever London show, part of his Going, Going, Gone Overseas Tour, which I attended on Monday (15th).
D.N.A becomes his third #1 single on its 18th non-consecutive week charting. This is the longest climb to #1 since 2021, when The Kid LAROI's STILL CHOSE YOU peaked at #1 on its 19th consecutive week from debut.
D.N.A was Knox's ninth highest song (of 12 charting) on the week parent album Going, Going, Gone came out. This week, it leads a whopping 17 Knox songs in this week's top 40!
Previous #1 singles The DJ and Going, Going, Gone rebound 26-6 and 22-5 respectively, while Voicemail re-enters at a new peak of #3, and deluxe song White Knuckles climbs 10-8. All of these are already part of Knox's 27 top 10 singles.
All previous charting songs from Going, Going, Gone re-enter, including 2023 single Not the 1975 which appears at its highest position in over two years, as well as a new entry for All American Tragedy, leaving only three tracks from the album that haven't made my top 40. Happy Ever After All and A Heart Still Breaks were not performed on the setlist but still gain strong re-entries.
Though not on the album, top 5 hits Sneakers and Here's to Us also re-enter thanks to inclusions on the setlist.
Maybe I Do, another deluxe song, is the only Knox song to fall this week as it wasn't on the setlist!
Going, Going, Gone returns for its 13th week at #1 in the album chart on its fifth stint.

Greyson Chance

Summertrain

Leading for the first half of the week, American singer Greyson Chance ultimately enters at #2 with Summertrain, his 25th top 10 hit.
Summertrain is my favourite album track from his 2011 debut album Hold On 'Til the Night, released when Greyson was 13 years old. It would have been a #1 in my chart had it existed just a few months earlier, I have no doubt, but it did nonetheless register a top 20 position in March 2012.
Hold On 'Til the Night was a #1 album in my chart in 2012 (and, again, would undoubtedly have spent a significant amount of time at #1 in 2011 had my chart existed then), and also spawned a #1 single in Running Away, one of the album's international bonus tracks, which remains one of the longest running hits in my chart's history.
Greyson re-recorded Summertrain recently, and it is now available under the name Summertrain '25, which is almost entirely responsible for the song's re-entry this week. It's a significant moment for Greyson who had largely sidelined his debut album until recently!
Hold On 'Til the Night's lead single, Waiting Outside the Lines, also now has a '25 version available, so expect it to make its long-awaited debut next week!
