The old creators have signed a deal which opens up for more Inbetweeners in TV, film and stage productions.

You'd imagine the creators would not have signed this deal if the original 4 actors were not on board.

Channel 4, Disney+, Amazon and Netflix all expected to enter the bidding.

Good? Bad? Indifferent?

I mean, cool, if it's still the old creators and the actors are involved, but the premise of the story was the realistic comedic experiences of being a normal teenager - so what would it be now? the comedic experiences of normal adults in the middle of their working lives?

Makes me think of the revived series of Red Dwarf, all well and good but probably half the jokes were lethargic material about how the crew was now past it, and that cast had a reason to still be together. More than starting with fresh characters who have disastrous lives (i.e. Peep Show) it almost inevitably has a weariness to it. The Inbetweener movies kinda showed how the concept was running out after they were out of the school setting.

Maybe a special or two to see how everyone is getting on adult life would be cool but a full series might not work. It's going to take some special writing to recapture the essence of the original series and first film. The second film, as Iz highlights, was where they'd begun to run out of steam.

Could be good. Although I don't know how much they'd get away with now as it does feel like TV has changed a fair bit.

The first 3 series + 1st film are great. The 2nd has its moments but far from the best. But if the original creators/ actors are involved then it could be good.

I loved and still love the show but think a special or two might be a better route to take but only time will tell.

I think it could be based around one of them getting married or something like that a bit like the hangover but they would need to make sure its different.
