Posted November 12Nov 12 I have created a Buzzjack Song Contest Wiki, and I know Silas mentioned that there have been attempts at this before but from what I've seen they're defunct now. Anyways, I just wanted to bring the attention of anyone who missed it in the lore drop thread (and to redirect any discussion about it here) since it's meant to be a community driven project made by and for the members of BJSC. Anyone and everyone is more than welcome to contribute anything they think is relevant, whether it be creating their own country's page, updating or adding new graphics, editing existing pages or anything else. It's a bit bare bones at the moment but hopefully not for long. At the moment it's mostly just the base made by me but I've noticed uhsting has been hard at work making lots of great adjustments and new content.>> BJSC Wiki <<First posts will need to be approved by moderators to keep bots at bay, but once your authenticity has been confirmed I'll upgrade you to a role that does not need approvals. Thankfully mediawiki keeps track of former edits so there's always the possibility of reverting to a previous edit if something goes wrong. If in doubt feel free to post in the discussion page of the relevant page and when/if possible I recommend putting sources although this is not mandatory by any means. For anyone looking to create country and/or contest pages, I recommend using these pages made by @uhsting as reference:Sovarasma (example of a proper country page)162nd Buzzjack Song Contest (example of a proper contest page)For those unfamiliar with how editing a wiki works, here are some useful links.
November 12Nov 12 Love it Jafet, will definitely do something in the coming days. Also, just want to check for transparency as this is long-held debate... Buzzjack Song Contest or BuzzJack Song Contest? 🤔

I suppose it's down to @Philip to correct us on that area if we are wrong! 😁
November 12Nov 12 It does say BuzzJack on the site layout itself so I guess it's officially that lol, but it's a small detail so many people (including me) often write Buzzjack.(Reminds me of Björk and how people often write Bjork but that actually changes the pronunciation so it's not the same thing - I just like a Björk reference)
November 13Nov 13 Author Thanks everyone that's contributed so far! I think I've managed to make everyone that has a mod by now, feel free to throw me a message if you're running into any walls, need any help or got any questions! Also feel free to do so here if you prefer! Also just in case it was unclear, everyone is free to edit or create any page, not just their own country page. It's by no means required, but just wanted to make it clear in case anyone was unsure if they're allowed to make specific edits/create specific pages. Nothing is too niche for this wiki, so by all means go wild!Case in point: MUNA-esque (sorry for spotlighting you again @uhsting but I just really love that you made this lmao)
November 13Nov 13 Gosh there's so much in it already, might come in handy for me sometime because my BJSC knowledge is actually quite subpar in my own opinion. I try but my brain just refuses to co-operate sometimes 🙃I just love how under Deandria's official languages, it actually says: 'Deandrian, Simlish' LOL. I remember I put that in my thread as a joke, 'Simlish when they're pissed off'. 😆 But don't change it please, at least not yet 🤭
November 13Nov 13 Just a little question:Is creating a page for each song not really encouraged? There are probably 1000+ entries out there and I wonder if having everyone make a page for each of their own entries would affect the wiki's performance.

However, unless there's something particularly notable about a song in the context of BJSC, an individual song page would be only its results in the contest and then just a link to either the song itself or a Wikipedia page associated with it, from either the artist, album or song itself, if any of those exist. Which is to say that each individual song is probably low priority - though Jafet said above nothing is too niche and if you want to, go for it?Anyway, LOVE this and it getting some traction, I love the Eurovision-style infoboxes on Wiki and it transferring over for country and contests threads is fantastic. I may try and do some edits at the weekend.

November 13Nov 13 Author @CowTzy You are more than welcome to make a 1000+ entries, but I recommend doing what Kath did and just linking to the youtube video or spotify link instead (unless it's particularly noteworthy).By the way I've updated the infobox templates for Countries and Song Contests to be a little less convoluted and confusing (at least to me lmao), so if you've already created any country pages I recommend updating the infoboxes if you can - otherwise I'll probably get to updating it later (and making sure to keep any info that is already there of course).
