It's 30 years since Insomnia was released and to celebrate it Disclosure are releasing their edit this Friday. It's something they've played during their live sets so I'm glad it's seeing the light of day on such a big anniversary year.

  • I have the UK CD single from the 1996 release, and it includes an "Original Mix Radio Edit" featuring Rogerโ€™s vocals (this corresponds to the "Original Radio Edit" from the 1995 release) https://www.

not feeling this sadly

Maceo Plex did a lot more with it when it last got officially remixed (in 2021)

this just feels like the original sped up a bit

Is there a problem with the streaming release putting the same edit on as the first two tracks? I've listened to both the Monster Mix Radio Edit and the Radio Edit on Spotify and they sound EXACTLY the same.

top 100 in the mids, although I really thought it may go much higher. Bad timing I suppose.

To be honest I'm sure I know what the difference between the two versions actually is. I've tried to find a version that is just the 'radio edit' and there's one on youtube that does sound different but it's not from an official source or anything so difficult to know if it's genuine. All the radio versions on Apple Music seem to be the same

I have genuinely never heard that before. I assume the vinyl release this week has it on then

Yes, itโ€™s on the vinyl tracklist (even though the image only shows 'Radio Edit'), so it should also be on the digital version. What an unforgivable oversight.

its only their own fault that it hasnt been successful (of course the shitload of Xmas songs didnt help either) - it was limited and far too expensive for a single/EP

I guess, since itโ€™s the anniversary, Tomorrowland / Universal just dropped this orchestral version. ๐Ÿ˜ด

The confusion with the radio edit is probably caused by the fact, that the poular version is not the original but the Monster Mix.

As you can see from the Spotify play count, both tracks are the same track ๐Ÿคจ
