Barely even December and the top 40 is an absolute sh!tshow already 💀

In like 5 charts time it’ll be back to normal with year old songs in the top 40 again, it’s not a huge deal.

You can like old Christmas music and not want it in the chart at the same time

But it does chart as it’s what is popular in December.

They will unfortunately even though I don’t like either song

I listened to POTP yesterday and their charts weren’t clogged up with Christmas songs but saying that, Stop The Cavalry was in the 1980 chart on yesterdays POTP but they skipped it

But EVERY single year. I like following charts as an escape sometimes (I know that's weird) and I hate Christmas so it's frustrating when it didn't always used to be like this.

But I won't harp on I'll just tune out til January

I think a takeover each year in the streaming era is natural and I don't mind it to a point, I just wish it didn't completely obliterate 6 whole chart weeks of the year.

Assume it was Dec 1980?

I get it, I would rather the newer Christmas music being new entries like in the old days and doing well rather than the same 30 Xmas songs charting each December because the chart now measures listens rather than sales but we are where we are with the metrics and consumption. And if these songs gain enough traction over the years they will start becoming bigger which I like measuring.

Maybe you’ll grow to like Christmas again later in life as it means something different.
