I’ve been compiling a list of my Top 20 favourite songs of the year, then sharing with my family at Christmas, since 1989 now, so this is my 37th year doing it.

I only joined BJ last year but have noticed many of you post EOY lists so thought I’d add mine for this year. I’ve expanded it to a Top 50 as most people’s list seem longer than 20 songs.

My only, self imposed, rule is keeping to one song per artist (not features).

I realise we have 1 month of the year left, however the number of releases tend to die away in December, and I reserve the right to change if something great comes along before year end. There probably won’t be much, if any, commentary because the songs speak for themselves and also I’m a bit lazy, but I’ll try to post them regularly over December.

Then, if anyone is interested, I might post the older lists from previous years at another stage.
