It's an expanded festive chart this week with no drop-outs, just 5 new entries, headed by Chris Rea's little-known haunting and desperately sad Tell Me There's A Heaven at number 2, having first gone top 10 in my charts in the early 90's. Chris sadly died just before Christmas, and there were lots of tributes to him in the pub last night, including his Christmas classic lower down my chart - that has already topped my charts before, so I'm opting for the very non-Christmassy-themed song about a child bewildered by death on television of battered and murdered children. As it's Christmas I'm keeping the party-disco fabulousness of Mud on top for a second week and it's their 6th number one, with an actual 50th anniversary Christmas classic at 3 from Greg Lake - 50 years since it topped my charts, and it has done the same several times since.

Jimmy Cliff meanwhile finally gets thet top 10 slot 56 years late - as it was one I didnt hear at the time - Chris De Burgh's Xmas oldie returns following a great pub karaoke performance that was good enough for any professional musical, 2 new Xmas tracks from Gwen Stefani and Dubstar (the latter has been absent almost 3 decades from my charts!) and DJ Snake sneaks in too. KYlie has two big Xmas climbers, but the UK chart-topper is short of the 40 at the mo, the other track is sprinting up faster. One more chart for 2025 to go, post-christmas....

Once these Xmas songs drop, unconditional is gonna peak higher by the looks of it. That's a fantastic result for this. I can't quite bring myself to delist it yet.

Church will hopefully climb from here on out. It's such a good lead for the deluxe edition of the album.
