Retro chart thoughts...

2025 - favourites: 'Defying Gravity', 'Sailor Song', 'APT.'

'Defying Gravity' still flying high last year unlike the sequel songs. I do think overall the music was a step down from the first movie, but I do like 'For Good' a lot.

2021 - favourites: 'Fairytale Of New York', 'Do They Know It's Christmas?', 'Last Christmas'

I'm glad Brenda has now out-charted that Bieber version of 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree'. Next target - Mel and Kim

2016 - favourites: 'Adventure of a Lifetime', 'Sweet Lovin', 'Never Forget You'

Pleased for Zara that she seems to be having a moment again a decade on. Keeping everything crossed for 'Midnight Sun' to make a U.K. Spotify update.

2011 - favourites: 'The Flood', 'What's My Name?', 'Firework'

15 years since Matt Cardle won the X Factor o: at the peak of its powers as I'm pretty sure that year was the highest rated series of the show ever.

I admittedly have a nostalgic soft spot for 'See The Day', even if recognising that 'Biology' and 'Whole Lotta History' probably should've been the first two singles from this era
