Mark Allen playing well, leading Mark Williams 5-2 in their first round match at the Masters.

Surely not another 6-2 in the Masters. So far all matches played in the Masters have been 6-2 wins. It's 4-2 to Kyren Wilson against Si Jiahui.

And it is another 6-2 win in the Masters, 5 matches and 5 6-2' this time for Kyren Wilson made back-to-back centuries in the last two frames.

Wu Yize produced a devastating exhibition of potting to thrash an out-of-sorts Xiao Guodong 6-0 as he progressed into the semi-finals of the Masters at Alexandra Palace.

The 22-year-old opened the match with a superb 112 break and followed up with a 93 and 60 as he established a commanding 4-0 lead over his Chinese compatriot at the mid-session interval.

It was a far from faultless display from debutant Wu, who won his first ranking title at the International Championship in November.

Very sad news in the Snooker world today as John Virgo passes away aged 79. Was a good player but will be remembered more for his TV career after retirement.

RIP John Virgo.

His catchphrase:

Where's the cueball going?

Unfortunately there is no footage of his 1979 UK Championship win over Terry Griffiths where he was docked two frames for being late as there was an strike by the BBC.

It was only 17 days ago, he was commentating on the final of the Masters between Kyren Wilson and John Higgins.

Defending champion Neil Robertson has been knocked out in the first round of the World Grand Prix in Hong Kong following a 5-1 defeat by Jak Jones.

World number three Robertson entered the tournament in good form after reaching the semi-finals of the German Masters last week, but failed to carry his momentum into the tie with Jones.

Robertson started well with a break of 46, but a missed red handed the initiative to Jones, who went on to open up a 2-0 lead.

A break of 88 saw Robertson briefly fight back to win the third frame, but Jones took control afterwards, triumphing in the next three to ease into the second round.

The match in Hong Kong took place only three-and-a-half days after Robertson's 6-1 defeat by Shaun Murphy in Berlin, with the Australian cutting a frustrated figure throughout.
