August 24, 200717 yr ok oral fiaxation I take it you have taken offence to what is supposed to have happened because you seem to be focusing more on what the press are saying has happened than what the thread was actually about. The guy is a very talented and underrated song writer and singer and the radio shoulnt be so racist to not play or promote his stuff because of what he has done or what he is reported to have done. Racism goes on everyday in every walks of life whether you are black white chinese or american indian the fact that this gets reported on is all because the guy is who he is and that is very wrong. Im white and half welsh half english and yet I live in Scotland and I have been faced with racism but it didnt get reported on in the papers or the radio because Im just an everyday joe blogg person. You should get off the racism track and discuss the album or not post in this thread to be honest. Thank you - at last some sense!
August 24, 200717 yr ya know things like this shouldnt matter I love Darren for his voice and his beautiful lyrics and to be honest this country in fact the whole world has gone so politically correct that things get thrown out of all proportion. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and if someone takes offence to that then thats their problem not the person who has expressed their opinion. Darren doesnt seem the type to do whatever has been reported and I only hope that through all of this he is ok. I agree with you that people should be entitled to make there own opinions with the exception of things that deliberately cause offence to others such as discrimination. That shouldnt be allowed or tolerated because it can hurt and damage others. Darren Hayes should be setting a good example to others because some people will see him as a role model and if he's giving out bad messages then its wrong.
August 24, 200717 yr the point I was tryin to make is that what some take as offensive others dont and nowadays its very hard to feel that you can say anything in case you cause offence and thats one of the reasons why society is as bad as it is because people cant talk openly to one another and say what they feel in case it upsets someone else and that is wrong.

For god's sake - you are believing the hype without knowing the truth - these are investigations and rumours. I like to see how some people on here would react if they were accused of something they didn't do and no one believed them. I'm not saying Darren didn't say what he is suspected of saying because i wasn't there so i don't know but i don't think its right that everyone is jumping on him without any proof! August 24, 200717 yr For god's sake - you are believing the hype without knowing the truth - these are investigations and rumours. I like to see how some people on here would react if they were accused of something they didn't do and no one believed them. I'm not saying Darren didn't say what he is suspected of saying because i wasn't there so i don't know but i don't think its right that everyone is jumping on him without any proof! I didnt accuse him of doing it...I said "if" he's been doing it then its a bad thing. I was also challenging some of the other comments made about why should it matter if he has done it. My point being, any form of discrimination if wrong and shouldnt be justified as being acceptable.
Yes but there are some things which will obviously cause offence such as racism, homophobia, discrimination against people with disabilities etc. There's nothing wrong with having an open conversation with others as long as we remain respectful to others.
August 24, 200717 yr Author I honestly think if Darren had done it, he'd have admitted it and apologised. He seems like that kind og guy! The whole thing seems ridiculous to me!
August 24, 200717 yr I can't believe how quick some posters are to judge someone guilty with no facts or information...it really is quite scary :o
August 24, 200717 yr And this is the guy that married a woman, despite knowing full well he's gay. I wouldn't go branding him as "not the type". And what has THAT got to do with anything? You're just making a fool of yourself. Are you even thinking about what you're saying? He is innocent until proven guilty in my book. If you don't like his music, fine. There's no need to start slandering people.
August 24, 200717 yr it is very scary isnt and like its been said before they wouldnt like it if the shoe was on the other foot .....
August 24, 200717 yr And this is the guy that married a woman, despite knowing full well he's gay. I wouldn't go branding him as "not the type". Your comments appear really ignorant, prejudical and bias. You can't go around making judgmental remarks about someone based on their sexuality. Yes, he may have known he was gay when he ended up marrying a woman, but on the other hand he may have been confused or simply under a great deal of pressure from society to conform to what is seen as the accepted "norm". At least he didnt stay in a marriage with someone who wasn't right for him. Coming out as a gay man is a difficult thing to do and we should respect him more for this. I'm just listening to his new album. Its very good. Much better than his last one.
August 28, 200717 yr think Darren Hayes should give up singing and performaing and become one of those '80s popstars' who write everybody elses songs
August 28, 200717 yr Author Ok, first of all he was never an 80s popstar. Second of all, why? He's having success and making great music.
August 29, 200717 yr Darren is still Top 10 in Friday's mids posted on Haven :cheer: Shame it fell to 14 by Sunday. I hope it lingers though, it's be c**p to see it drop as much as the single did.
August 29, 200717 yr think Darren Hayes should give up singing and performaing and become one of those '80s popstars' who write everybody elses songs kinda stupid thing to say that cause none of it makes sense. he has far to many fans who appreciate his music for a start and when he has such a beautiful voice why wouldnt he want to sing his own lyrics....
August 30, 200717 yr I really like Darren's music... I will buy the album when it comes out (in here)
March 21, 200916 yr I still love this album! Favourites being Neverland and Sing To Me - just sublime
