When Cheryl Tweedy (at the time) was arrested and charged, she was not only arrested for the assult but was suspect for a racial slur - this in fact is a far worse scenerio then what Darren is in right now.

 

It took nearly a year for it all to be cleared up so Girls Aloud were releasing singles namely No Good Advice and Life Got Cold and an album all going in top 3 with at that point a suspect rasist in the group.

 

When Cheryl was found not guilty of rasicm all the tabliods thought that the girls would never get over this but well the rest is history.

 

Also, Cheryl married Ashley years after the story had been cleared and found innocent!

 

What I'm trying to say is that Darren could be proven innocent as well - so stop jumping on your high horse!

 

And Darren is STILL top 10 in the midweek chart!

You're the fool here buddy. What a f***ing ridiculous statement to make. Just because somebody is married to a black person does not automatically mean they are not racist. There's alot more to racism than black & white. (And I am NOT saying cheryl is a racist, I'm just using the example you gave).

 

Nothing has been proven yet about Darren. Nobody knows what went on apart from those who were there. You can't just assume he is racist and therefore has f***ed up his career. It could have been a misunderstanding. Go have a look on his website anyway, there are almost 30 pages of messages of support from his fans. Those are the same people who buy his albums. :)

ya know things like this shouldnt matter I love Darren for his voice and his beautiful lyrics and to be honest this country in fact the whole world has gone so politically correct that things get thrown out of all proportion. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and if someone takes offence to that then thats their problem not the person who has expressed their opinion.

 

Darren doesnt seem the type to do whatever has been reported and I only hope that through all of this he is ok.

I love Darren's album :wub:!! Some incredible songs and it is so different from anything else out there. I really doubt he is guilty of the allegations made against him too - it just doesn't seem to be in his nature.

Emily didn't call Charley the N-word as a racist taunt, that's why. Emily and Charley were friends too, so I doubt Charley would sue her either.

This album is absolutely wonderful, its well been worth the 3 year wait. Can't say there's a single song I don't like, though my favourites are probably Neverland, Setting Sun, Me Myself and I, The Future Holds a Lions Heart, Casey and Listen All You People. Also love Bombs Up In My Face, was very unsure of this on first listen but addicted to it now!

This whole rubbish about a racist slur is just too unlikely to be in any way true, I'd sooner believe that the Queen slapped a muslim for taking too long to make her a cup of tea. Its just the exact opposite of his personality and goes against everything he believes in.

what 1 person classes as racist another wouldnt I dont jump on someone and take them court or press charges on them for calling me white or english for god sake people in this country need to the chill out and deal with the real problems like people who have access to guns and shot innocent 11 year olds who then lie dying in their mothers arms.

were you on Cheryl's back when she was accused? And then be a fan as soon as she was proven innocent? It seems like your just trying to jump on a bandwagon. You don't know Darren and unless you were there don't bother quoting the press for things as we all know they can make stuff up.

 

And why would the radio think twice - maybe they'll play him more - i mean OTVOSW didn't exactly get much radio play anyway. Darren has denied the stories and i believe him like i believed Cheryl when that story broke.

ok oral fiaxation I take it you have taken offence to what is supposed to have happened because you seem to be focusing more on what the press are saying has happened than what the thread was actually about.

 

The guy is a very talented and underrated song writer and singer and the radio shoulnt be so racist to not play or promote his stuff because of what he has done or what he is reported to have done. Racism goes on everyday in every walks of life whether you are black white chinese or american indian the fact that this gets reported on is all because the guy is who he is and that is very wrong.

 

Im white and half welsh half english and yet I live in Scotland and I have been faced with racism but it didnt get reported on in the papers or the radio because Im just an everyday joe blogg person. You should get off the racism track and discuss the album or not post in this thread to be honest.
