Posted January 24, 200718 yr Just because news is quiet, thought you might like to read this. I note that Nora jones is listed by D as one of his influences on my space. This is what Victoria newton says about Norah jones new album. I know it victoria newton but I do tend to agree. Quote - NORAH JONES’ new album Not Too Late is the perfect present for a friend . . . with insomnia. I’m afraid it is so dull and bland that I needed matchsticks to stop my eyes from closing as I listened to it. It’s so boring I’m going to have to nickname her SNORAH JONES from now on. I had high hopes for the CD because, even though I’m not really a fan, I don’t mind the odd Norah tune and she does have a beautiful voice. But I found myself skipping from track to track, searching for anything interesting — only to find nothing. First track, Wish I Could, had me thinking, I wish I could turn this off. Wakey wakey ... time for a new sound The next, Sinkin’ Soon, was what will happen to her album sales at this rate, and the third track, The Sun Doesn’t Like You . . . er, no love, couldn’t have put it better myself. Maybe she has a sense of humour though — there’s a track called Wake Me Up. Who needs Nytol when you’ve got Snorah Jonezzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Hope he is not too influenced.
January 24, 200718 yr I'll agree with that review - even given the source. I have to say though, I do know people who love that type of music. I wouldn't say it was bad, just not to my taste. Maybe D was listening to Norah when he kept oversleeping. Seriously though, if what you're after is music to unwind and relax by, she is excellent. It's not something I'd buy but it is a good record of that type of music.
January 24, 200718 yr I didn't buy her debut that was feted all over the place so I can't comment . I liked the song called "Come Away"(?) and I admit I seriously considered buying the album because there was so much critical acclaim surrounding it.
January 26, 200718 yr Author Sorry, I sometimes have to do things in a rush brecause other things like the grandchildren are calling.
January 27, 200718 yr mm..the only decent song she had was come away.. it is the only one they ever play over and over..it is a good song, but a bit sleep invoking..her whole career seemed to be based on that song being so popular.
January 27, 200718 yr Isn't 'Don't know why' a Nora Jones song? - That's a very well know and frequently covered song too, but maybe her version was a cover? ... or it wasn't her - not sure? as I'm not very familiar with her stuff. I do really like the song Don't know Why; and Nora Jones has a cutsie type of voice that appeals to me - but I do find Come Away With Me very Snore inducing musically though  Having said that, she's an extremely well thought of/popular artist I think isn't she? Sorry, I sometimes have to do things in a rush brecause other things like the grandchildren are calling. Don't apologise Preston - it gave me a laugh and that's good  - and I really do think Darfius is a cute name :D Edited January 27, 200718 yr by Secret_Song

January 29, 200718 yr Her PR machine is obviously well in gear. She seemed to be in every publication I picked up this weekend. The song I mentioned earlier is apparently "Come Away With Me" Edited January 29, 200718 yr by Baytree
