After completely missing the Top 40 since I started tracking my data in January 2025, an unprecedented surge in plays threatens to completely rewrite my chart history with multiple other Michael Jackson classics tracking to make massive, simultaneous debuts.Dominic Fike β Babydoll / Phone Numbers The Dominic Fike chart takeover goes much deeper than just "3 Nights" battling for the number one spot. With "White Keys" already securing a strong debut at Number 11 last week, his historic momentum is exploding as two brand-new tracksβ"Babydoll" and "Phone Numbers"βare showing massive exponential growth and looking to score major Top 40 debuts of their own.On This Day: 1 Year Ago (28th March 2025)The Crown Changes HandsKendrick Lamar β All the Stars (with SZA) Exactly a year ago, there was a massive shift at the top of the chart! After Myles Smith's "Nice To Meet You" completely dominated the month of March with a three-week reign at Number 1, Kendrick Lamar and SZA finally managed to dethrone him. "All the Stars" jumped up from Number 2 to successfully steal the crown and secure its spot in my chart history.A Future Giant EmergesAlex Warren β Ordinary While Kendrick was taking the top spot, an absolute chart monster was quietly making its move. Alex Warren's "Ordinary" debuted at Number 2 on this exact week. This debut perfectly set the stage for the following week, where "Ordinary" would take over the Number 1 spot and hold it for four consecutive weeks throughout the entire of April.Kendrick's Double DominanceKendrick Lamar β luther (with SZA) Kendrick Lamar wasn't just satisfied with taking the Number 1 spot; he completely hijacked the upper tier of the chart! Alongside his newly crowned Number 1, he also locked down the Number 3 spot with "luther," giving him two massive Top 3 hits in the exact same week. The Top 10 Time Capsule (28th March 2025) Here is a look at exactly what the upper tier of the chart looked like one year ago today:Kendrick Lamar β All the Stars (with SZA) (New #1)Alex Warren β OrdinaryKendrick Lamar β luther (with SZA)Myles Smith β Nice To Meet You (Dropped from #1)Dennis Lloyd β NevermindTyla β PUSH 2 STARTJVKE β Upside DownRosΓ© β APT. March 27Mar 27 Hi there!Nice to see "3 Nights" reaching the top 3, probably the only Dominic Fike song I can enjoy unironically. I also like the return for "Dior" and the Michael Jackson takeover. Question, have you heard of the Michael Jackson movie coming next month? Do you look forward to it?Great chart!Take care.
