Tony Christie had hits in the 60s and 70s

No hits in 60s but 5 in 70s.

Also the re-issued follow-up to last year #1 was Avenues & Alleyways and reached the 20s

Actually Blu Cantrell and Ja Rule had hits before they reached No.1, unless I'm going down the wrong route.

We had a thread about one hit wonders a few weeks back

Michelle McManus, although it did go to #15 I think it was still considered a flop.

Eric Prydz has not released any follow up yet!

think the number one was a one off for ministry of sound. think that happens a lot in the dance area. would expect him to have put out loads of singles on 12 inch on random labels that are probably too long to be counted for the charts.

anyway he is not 50th one-hit wonder. he has had another top 75 hit

Ain't Chef's "Chocolate Salty Balls" exempted as the vocals were by Isaac Hayes who had two previous hits.

Yea, Eric had 'Wot not Woz' that didn't go Top40 before 'Call on me'

cant wait to see his death over here  :cheer: :cheer: gonna be a great episode

Perhaps Las Ketchup should release thier Eurovision entry Bloody Mary here and pray it goes top 75 lol...
how about the bee gees? i think they had number ones in the 60s, 70s and 80s, but you only ever hear one song being played by them from the 60s and 80s, so they must have had loads of flopps around this time. everything else is always from the saturday night fever, staying alive and tragedy period

Its very sad :(

The death is a bit unnecessarily cruel though

I can't stand her but #15 is not a flop.

Officially a flop is a single that doesn't chart at all.

They had 10 hits in the 60s including 2 #1s and a #2.

They were a 5 piece band at this time - Barry, Robin & Maurice Gibb - Colin Peterson (drummer), Vince Melouney (lead guitar)

The hits were:

1967 - New York Mining Disaster 1941 - #12

1967 - To Love Somebody - #41

1967 - Massachusettes - #1

1967 - World - #9

1968 - Words - #8

1968 - Jumbo - #25

1968 - I've Gotta Get A Message To You - #1

1969 - First Of May - #6

1969 - Tomorrow Tomorrow - #23

1969 - Don't Forget To Remember - #2

They then split for a short time and then became a 3 piece band

After the split in 1969 Robin had a #2 solo hit with Saved By The Bell.

Most of their flops came between 1973 & 76

Including the original version of the Randy Crawford hit NIGHTS ON BROADWAY

The there was Fanny (Be Tender With My Love) and How Can You Mend A Broken Heart.

They were massive hits in the states and the latter was a US #1.

Personally though I preferred their 60s music

however the first one in the book (a number one followed by a non-top 20 record is), which might be shocking for some. ABBA with Waterloo which was followed by Ring Ring number 32

 It didnt even get to #15. It got to #16.
