Posted January 27, 200718 yr From abit ago but still a good story to discuss http://www.bbc.co.uk/arts/livingicons/vote/ should have been 1st, imo.
January 27, 200718 yr I even voted for him on this! I agree he should have been #1. The amount of lives he's changed for the better and all.
January 28, 200718 yr Impressive, to say the least. But, I do think Paul McCartney is a bigger icon than Morrissey, should have won. Morrissey would still come 2nd.
January 28, 200718 yr Nah, it any Beatle should there then it should be John Lennon but of course he's no longer living  And it shows it's not just huge sales that matter!11!11ELEVEN!11!
January 28, 200718 yr Author See in the paper today Nicky about Preston trying to look like Moz?
January 28, 200718 yr Author I'll ask my mum :D 1 moment It's funny, i was watching my Moz dvd and my sister said ''why you watching Preston?'' about 3 weeks ago
January 29, 200718 yr I disagree about Preston copying Mozzer's singing style, because to me he is copying Suggs out of Madness.
January 30, 200718 yr Author Preston from The Ordinary Boys today chose "Why Don't You Find Out For Yourself?" as the song that changed his life. Today's Jo Whiley show on Radio 1 was being broadcast from Preston's home, and during a section of the show called Changing Tracks he chose the 'Vauxhall And I' track, explaining that the whole album changed his life but that particular song was his favourite song from that album. Jo asked why it meant so much to him and he replied that the whole album had meant so much to the people that he knew. That the album had a strange, haunting quality that made it unlike anything else that was around at the time. The song was then played. Afterwards Jo asked Preston about Morrissey's influence. "Massive. I think I'm forever trying to shake the 'Morrissey' from out of me. People keep saying to me 'Oh you just want to be Morrissey', but I just deny it. But of course I'd love to be Morrissey". Jo then asked if he had ever met Morrissey. "A few times. But I've only had the courage to speak to him once. I went up to him and said 'Hello, I'm Preston from The Ordinary Boys' and he just looked at me and said (dismissively)'I know who you are!' That was the end of that." Later Jo remarked that several people had texted in thanking Preston for getting some Mozz played on prime-time Radio 1. http://img300.imageshack.us/img300/7682/0000b7530b2ep2.jpg
January 30, 200718 yr I have never heard them. Well, I might have heard them on the tv or on the radio but not by self.. something (my english is not perfect, you know?)
January 30, 200718 yr Yes we're biased but Morrissey should definatly have won, David Attenborough is alright but he hasn't changed peoples lives the way Morrissey has. I can't stand Preston from the ordinary boys, he may be a Moz fan but I think he's a stuck-up arrogant obnoxious little twerp. Edited January 30, 200718 yr by meowza
