Here's a little interview with Chris Rock, detailing why they've made the video like they have:

 

The clip, which was directed by actor and funny man Chris Rock, features the Peppers out of context - because Rock told the band's producer, Rick Rubin, they needed to do something different.

 

"I said, 'They need to do a straight-down-the-middle party, girls, ass-shaking, Rolling Stones-type video'," said Rock, in a statement released by Warner Music. "So Anthony [Kiedis] pages me and asks if I'd like to direct the video. I said, 'Okay, I'll direct it, but you have to agree to be the only white people in the video.' He laughed and said, 'Sure, because it's going to look different'."

I think this is getting a UK release now!!! :o

No it won't do very well. Would be lucky to scrape the Top40, but still it's a good song with a great video so it'll be fast and effective to promote the album which is the main thing! :D

i hope it doesnt miss the top 40 i would be so disappointed if it did

Release dates for the rest of the world are tba

I still think the first single cover is a fake as it just looks so tacky and in general AWFUL. I much prefer the 2nd cover, as it has the video's feel about the cover! :D

I like the second one though. It's not very Chili's but I like it all the same and it fits the feel of the video nicely. ^_^

Everywhere that's getting Hump De Bump as a 4th single is getting the DS B-sides that everyone else had. :lol: Which means that when Hump De Bump is released Internationally then we may all be getting new B-sides where as everyone else doesn't. :D :lol:

Well I wouldn't say it's carved in the stone yet that we'll be getting new B-sides, but it seem very likely! :D But then the chances are they'll also release them in Australia and the US etc etc eventually as well.

Ah Jake. :( I like the video. Some of it as bit wierd, but I like the idea that the Chili's are the only white people in the video. Is cleverly directed by Chris Rock.

its not my fave song but i like it

I like the track, it's not the best on SA but it's definitley not the worst. Has a good edge to it and has that real funk sense to it, like the earlier material had to it. :D
