Many have slated this album as Mariah's worst.. I don't see it as "bad", but then I suppose I am bias :P Anyway, I think I know why some people do think it is her worst performance both vocally and lyrically and why its singles practically bombed.

My theory is that many of the songs are only good towards the ending of them. For example, Through The Rain only grabbed my attention during the last minute or so when Mariah's voice is powerful. Subtle Invitation is another example where the song can be deemed "boring" throughout until, again, the last minute or so. She shouts and screams stuff like 'don't ever hesitate to call' and things of that nature which really make it one of my favourite Mariah songs.

What ya'll think?

Hmmm I think a lot of Mariah's tracks are like that - not just the tracks on Charmbracelet.

I think the problem was she was still reeling off the Glitter disaster and she came back with a completely lacklustre album, full of unwanted b-sides, not really proving what voice she has (on majority of tracks anyway) and came out whispering every note in sight.

I definately think it's her worst album.

Tracks like TTR and BOTH are some of my favourite Mariah tracks, but the rest are dire in my opinion. -_-

You not like Subtle Invitation?

Well, considering Mariah doesn't have b-sides... :P

I've always said while CB is awful vocally, I love it lyrically. Songs like TTR, Yours, Clown and my saving grace are fab... while BOTH is a true classic!

You not like Subtle Invitation?

Nope. -_-

Well yeah, but you get the jist. :P

Its a shame she never uses b-sides. She always records loads for each album. Like 'Reach for the sky/stars' (I forget the actual title. One of them) for charmbracelet was supposedly amazing, but was never released. Bah!
It is, I have LOVED everyone of Mariah's B-Sides so far, sometimes even more than the single itself
I hope we get b-sides with the new album. :D

I did, Do You Think Of Me was just amazing, definatly better than quite a few songs on Daydream. There For Me was one of her best songs ever, and Slipping Away just speaks for itself

Last B-Side we had was Secret Love, but I had that anyway :(

I don't class secret love as a b-side as it was a bonus track.

'There for me' is my fave b-side. Amazing lyrics, amazing song!

Oooh yes we all share a love for There For Me. It was the b-side to the Medley wasn't it?
Yeah, it was on the US only release 'Never too far/Hero'. One of my favourite CDs in my collection! :D
Same, I love the cover too! I used to hate it but love it now
The cover is okay, quite simply. ^_^
Well yes, but come on it, she was on a budget.
 As we can tell from the Last Night A Dj Saved My Life & Don't Stop videos!

 As we can tell from the Last Night A Dj Saved My Life & Don't Stop videos!

They were fabby though.

The Last Night A Dj one was funny, but I thought the Don't Stop one was c**p :P
