Hmmm I think a lot of Mariah's tracks are like that - not just the tracks on Charmbracelet.

 

I think the problem was she was still reeling off the Glitter disaster and she came back with a completely lacklustre album, full of unwanted b-sides, not really proving what voice she has (on majority of tracks anyway) and came out whispering every note in sight.

 

You're right. Maybe that's why the endings for me really stood out and actually are the only reason I like the album.

cb is one of her best albums lyrically... and it features some of her greatest songs: my saving grace, clown, bringin' on the heartbreak..

 

the prob with cb was, that mariahs image was so destroyed at that time.. nobody wanted a new album just 1 year after glitter (even though glitter is a great album). the formula just didn't work.,

It was released in 2002 I think, VERY VERY rushed straight after her breakdown so she didn't do much work on it!

Argh I guess she tried damage limitation and it just made things worse. :(

Definatly, and the duet with Justin fell through so I bet it was a hard time for her. People said at the Charmbracelet tour she just seemed to have given up, and looked upset etc.

I think she should do another duet with Usher, while we're on the subject of duets. :lol:

Well Usher did really well with Confessions a couple of years back, he was huge. ^_^

Burn was a huge song! I was listening to Charmy loud today and I listened to it all and it wasn't that bad, it's better loud :P

I've been listening to it a bit today, and still thinks it's the worst. :lol: The tracks don't sound bad or anything, they're just not as good as the other album tracks. :P

I know I thought I would love Sunflowers because it's such a personal song but I really don't... :(

Same, it's just a whispery, boring song with too much vocals in it :(
