Comic Relief single expected to be big hit

Record stores are expecting to sell 250,000 copies of this year's Comic Relief single.

Girls Aloud and the Sugababes have teamed up to record a cover of Aerosmith's Walk This Way for the charity event, and insiders are tipping it to be one of the year's biggest-selling tracks.

A HMV source told the Daily Star: "Brit music fans can always be relied upon to respond generously to charity releases, particularly when it comes to Comic Relief. But pairing up Girls Aloud with Sugababes is an inspired choice that guarantees the song will be a No. 1 smash hit.

"There will be huge TV and radio support and a final figure of 250,000 isn't unrealistic."

Any Comments?

I have to admit not as many pre-orders as I would have thought there would be, but that's still huge :D
that isnt including downloads :P

that isnt including downloads :P

trues :P

wonder if it's only going to be 1 CD version or 2 versions, or even a 3rd format (DVD)

cos I'll be buying each if there is

According to NME Dallas Austin is said to be producing this

He produced Push The Button, Ugly, Gotta Be You, and It Ain't Easy for Sugababes last album and generally works with alot of American artists

Glad it's not Xenomania just in case it did sound cheesy

This should be class though, good stuff :cheer:

Apparently Peter Kay will also be releasing a Comic Relief single which isn't a good thing for Sugababes & Girls Aloud, either way chances are they'll leave it until the week after 'Walk This Way,' for release though.
still think girls aloud vs sugababes will outsell peter kay on there second week

Yeah, I heard the song will be Peter Kay & Matt Lucas covering The Proclaimers (I'm Gonna Be) 500 Miles, which is already in the Itunes top 100

I think that will be another big-seller like Amarillo but at least they won't release on the same week

He's an AMAZING guy! Some of the people who he has worked with and some of the work he has produced is just =

Peter Kay has had it! If it were MATT LUCAS AND DAVID WALLIAMS then it might be a bigger success

Peter Kay UGH.

I have just heard this in the Pop Forum - truly amazing.

I have a feeling it could be a million seller or at least the biggest selling single of 2007. It's for charity and has the 2 biggest girlbands in the UK on it so obviously their fanbases will buy it too.

I think they're safe No.1 with this song!

Peter Kay is so overrated, its not even funny anymore.

This is going to huge and Its a great song.
