Comic Relief single expected to be big hit

Record stores are expecting to sell 250,000 copies of this year's Comic Relief single.

Girls Aloud and the Sugababes have teamed up to record a cover of Aerosmith's Walk This Way for the charity event, and insiders are tipping it to be one of the year's biggest-selling tracks.

A HMV source told the Daily Star: "Brit music fans can always be relied upon to respond generously to charity releases, particularly when it comes to Comic Relief. But pairing up Girls Aloud with Sugababes is an inspired choice that guarantees the song will be a No. 1 smash hit.

"There will be huge TV and radio support and a final figure of 250,000 isn't unrealistic."

Any Comments?

250,000, should be enough to get it in the top 10 end of year :o

Video may premiere next week, hopefully they've made a good take on it

Really looking forward to hearing this single seeing as 'Walk This Way,' is such an interesting song for Sugababes and Girls Aloud to cover, it definitley will be a big hit imo especially with it being a charity single. :D

Good to see if there is going to be some decent radio support because Sugababes have never had any trouble getting A-listed with a new single but they've never tried it with a straight cover before

Still, I should think because it's a big charity song it should do okay :P

Hopefully it will be quite an edgey cover too seeing as it's produced by Dallas Austin. :D

You're kidding me? :o :cheer:

Well I've read that Dallas Austin has produced it because many people wanted Xeomania to do so, however I would much rather have Dallas produce it and am very pleased that he has done so. :D

I just found out that it was NME that confirmed that Dallas Austin was producing 'Walk This Way,' so I would say that was a reliable source. :D Girls Aloud aren't really cheesy but at the same time they're not as edgey and credible as Sugababes are imo.

GIRLS aloud aint cheesey

You can't say that Girls Aloud aren't cheesy

That last song they released was pure cheese

At least this time a cover can be done right :D

'I Think We're Alone Now,' was pure cheese actually.

I don't think 'Something Kinda Ooooh,' was cheesy but I say that cos I don't think that was a bad song though, not a big Girls Aloud fan at all though.

I know mate, I liked SKO, it was like a proper dance record

But Xenomania can sound cheesy at times, but with this producer I'm pretty sure he won't mess, still surprised it's him though

I think Girls Aloud should make more singles similar to the sound of 'SKO,' because it's their best sound and managed to gain them a lot of credibility, then they threw it all away by releasing 'ITWAN.'

Dallas Austin has been a brilliant producer for Sugababes in the past so I'm hoping that 'Walk This Way,' will be brilliant. :D

Agreed, SKO was a good song by anybody's standards but then they released a terrible song, when if they've got people who can do songs like SKO for them then why bother with their cover songs?

Has Dallas Austin work with the Sugababes before TIMW? Think he did 4 tracks on that one

'TIMW,' was the first Sugababes project which Dallas worked on but he definitley helped make it their most sophisticated album to date imo. :D

It's probably my least favourite album from theirs, still not bad though

I think they should let Johnny Rockstar produce more of their stuff, Overload and Stronger are great

I think he did alot of their first album also

It's gonna be the hit of the year. Like it's been said, it's gonna have both Suga and Aloud's fanbabes plus the charity side and it'll probably produce a whole new side of fans.

The video and song are set to premiere next week as far as i know and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!
