Posted January 28, 200718 yr Amy Lee has confirmed in an interview that Good Enough will be the last single off The Open Door. Last week 'All That I'm Living For' was announced at the Ottawa gig, to be the third single. Good Enough has now been confirmed as the fourth single. All four of the single choices were played as acoustics in various sessions such as Yahoo and AOL. I'm sorry, but Good Enough in my opinion is a c**p single choice... as is All That I'm Living For. They're both good songs but we need at least one song with a faster pace such as Sweet Sacrifice or Weight of the World or Snow White Queen (The latter, I think would make an interesting video) I think they're both weak choices, after CMWYS and Lithium were good choices. If they recieve the same sort of attention commerically as Lithium did (which, IMO, is the most radio-friendly song on the album), then they're both doomed to flop. January 28, 200718 yr "Good Enough"???? The most boring, bland song on the ruddy album???? The one I usually skip??? Rubbish choice.... Tbh, I dont even see the point in releasing a fourth single, or even a third really.... It's a really unwelcome trend for bands these days, in days gone by you'd get three tops from an album.... "Snow White Queen" would be a far better choice for a single, best song on the album imo...
January 28, 200718 yr I quite like All That I'm Living For, but I wanted Lose Control to be released at some point. :(
January 28, 200718 yr Dear God. YS, TOO, LY, Lacrymosa, CN, SS would all be better singles. The worst songs on the album are the singles save for Lithium. They used to know what the singles should be much better with Fallen. Edited January 29, 200718 yr by Filthy or Gorgeous
January 29, 200718 yr all that im living for is good but good enough i doubt will be very good on the charts
January 29, 200718 yr I'm so annoyed that Snow White Queen won't be released. :( Why have they chose these songs for? What a cockup.
January 29, 200718 yr I'm so annoyed that Snow White Queen won't be released. :( Why have they chose these songs for? What a cockup. ATILF is a better single choice than SWQ. Neither one is particulary good but ATILF is at least catchy. Snow White Queen just drags on and on and her voice is too edited and annoying. BUT "Good Enough" is the worst choice! I'm shocked it will be a single.
January 29, 200718 yr Snow White Queen just drags on and on and her voice is too edited and annoying. Are you kidding me...? One of the most beautiful and complex songs (as well as being one of the most METAL!) the band have ever written... Easily the stand-out track on TOD, by a mile... You can keep yer "Lithium" (decent enough tune, but it's very 80s Rock Ballad-y, I could easily see Stevie Nicks, Ann Wilson or Carol Decker singing this, with a nice, tastefully lit, soft-focus video to accompany..) and your "Call Me When Your Sober" (just utterly WEAK..)... But nah, probably wouldn't really work as single, for the very reasons I pointed out, a bit too, well, 'heavy' and 'deep' for daytime radio, MTV and the teenybop fans out there really to get their heads around....

My CMWYS? That song sucks. Lithium is by far the best track. Vocally, lyrically, musically, how you get drawn into it after 3 seconds, I love it. It's much deeper than SWQ and people loved Lithium (even though it failed), so SWQ's problem is not the lyrics. It is better than CMWYS and Sweet Sacrifice lyrically, though. I'm also surprised you like it so much because you hate Fallen and it sounds like a Fallen track. I agree SWQ could have been a great song. I don't like when vocal effects are overused. The verses just drag. Actually it was my favorite song off the album when I first heard it. I haven't had the CD for 2-3 weeks and when I made that post I was totally bored by it. Now when I listen to it, I like it again. Just not single material.

It reminds me a bit of an A Perfect Circle song in many ways, the way it's structured and stuff, and it has the strange snatches of random electronica that APC put onto their songs as well.... Of course it aint the only song on TOD that sounds a bit like A Perfect Circle... Some of TOD sounds like Smashing Pumpkins too....
January 31, 200718 yr It's one of the few songs on this album that actually remind me of one of those people AMy was supposedly inspired by - Bjork. It's a mixture of Bjork and Fallen Evanescence. With less vocal effects which I hate, it would have been great. More of that sound but with raw vocals for the next LP would be nice. Edited January 31, 200718 yr by Filthy or Gorgeous
February 2, 200718 yr I think Sweet Sacrafice is pretty good, and should have been a single. Shame Lithium flopped since its such a great song, but at least the album is doing ok in the US.
February 9, 200718 yr "Good enough" is a great song, but not a good choise as a single... A song with more of a rock attitude would be better.
