I hope that they manage to get 2 awards and Kasabian manage to get 2 to make it fair. :D

I have no idea how many awards the Arctics will win. I guess it just depends what the majority of NME readers think is 'in' at the moment. :P

I love how Pete is nominated for best and worst everything  Here's who I want to win anyway :D

Some good predictions there Nicky. :D ^_^

I have no idea who'll win any of the awards though because of NME readers voting or them, so I guess it will just be who the majority of the readers think are the best acts around at the moment.

For that reason I reckon Klaxons and The View are in with a good shot of winning some awards.

Ah the better version of the Brit awards, for people like me anyway

Here's a bit more on the whole NME awards and the Arctics. :D ^_^

Source: digitalspy

The Arctic Monkeys follow their success last year by leading the race for NME awards at this year's ceremony.

The Sheffield-based group are in the running for four awards - best British band, best live band, best album and best music DVD.

Last year they won three awards, including the coveted best British group accolade.

According to the BBC, the band called the nominations "very nice".

In addition to the Arctic Monkeys, Muse, The Killers, My Chemical Romance and Kasabian also received four award nominations.

The ceremony is to be held on March 1 in London

I hope they scoop an award :cheer: They definitely deserve the Best British Band award!

Arctic Monkeys win Best DVD at the Shockwaves NME Awards 'Scummy Man' triumphs

Arctic Monkeys have won the Best DVD award at tonight's (March 1) Shockwaves NME Awards for 'Scummy Man'.

The award was presented at the Hammersmith Palais in London by Franz Ferdinand pair Alex Kapranos and Nick McCarthy.

'Scummy Man' beat off competition from:

Dirty Pretty Things - 'Puffing On A Coffin Nail'

Foo Fighters - 'Skin And Bones'

Maximo Park - 'Found On Film'

My Chemical Romance - 'Life On The Murder Scene'

"Thanks to the Scummy Man for saying most of the words, and I'd like to say thanks to me mum!" the Monkeys announced on picking up their award.

Excellent! Yet more awards! :cheer:

I know. :D ^_^ I'm suprised they didn't win Best British Band though considering they won the album award! :o
