Didn't Will say he wanted to take less time laying down the tracks for the next album but that didn't mean we would get it any sooner. I suppose once it's all written he can dovetail it with any other career plans though I'm sure the label will want a release as soon as possible.

 

Wonder if he still has plans for his own studio. He could be in Cornwall overseeing the work. :unsure:

 

Like everyone else I'm desperate for new music & hope those who think we'll get something by the end of the year are right. At the moment I'd give my right arm to hear him sing anything.

I think his label will want it out at the most profitable time of the year, pre Xmas.

 

For an artist like Will who has such a wide age range of fans, it could make a significant difference to sales with albums being bought as presents. The fact that his sales rely almost entirely on the domestic market is another reason to release at the biggest selling period of the year.

 

Of course, if the album isn't ready, SBMG are gonna have to whistle for it, but he had a lot of free time last year by pop star standards that I'm sure he must have been doing something.

 

That's my main reason for thinking the end of the year, although I have a couple more.

 

And BTW, Robbie released 6 of his first 7 albums yearly and no earlier than October and Westlife's first 6 albums were released annually in November. Two other huge selling domestic artists.

I suppose it depends whether he'll reconsider some of his songs written previously or write completely new stuff. Friday's Child was an old song of Steve's I believe.

I do wish the OS would give us some sort of date.....its all this up in the air business that I can't cope with. Tail end of this year or god forbid - 12 months later, tail end of next...I just wish we knew. I used to think that 3 albums in my collection of a single artist was quite a bit, but now, it seems like nothing at all. He's going to have to make many more albums before I get bored thats for sure :D

Hmmm, well I'm not sure it was a good idea to start it, I hope you don't mind me saying that Dot, but I do get a feeling that attempts to get to the bottom of reasons for bad feeling get squashed and buried so that they remain under the surface ready to bubble up again at a later date, which I feel is a shame when there is a glimmer of hope we might be getting somewhere by discussing it. But then maybe I just have too much faith in human nature when I see the hope of solution! Oh well!

I agree - I think. Some people just don't get on, their personalities and styles clash - end of! Just like in real life. I think it's unrealistic to expect there not to be disagreements - but I don't like them being left in limbo :(

I have a feeling it will be the end of this year. Will that be in time for the Brits? If he doesn't get a nomination because he's not around, I don't think that will be a bad thing as long as he does when he is!

I think you could well be right. There have been all sorts of tensions building over there for a long time, and it doesn't take much for them to surface under different guises. :(

 

Think I agree too, but if we're not careful and start to discuss it we'll start off round 2

Don't think you are Munchkin - I've a different name. :D The one I use on here is the same one I used on CC, and before that on Dotmusic when it was around.
