No, I'm not into the appreciation threads either.

 

I love the all encompassing one 'cos Im thoroughly enjoying the show, love all the Josephs, they're such an appealing bunch of guys, I'm always sad when once has to go (Cowell can only look at the combined talent of those finalists and weep). Lee has to be the favourite, but I'm sure they'll all have great careers in musical theatre in the future.

Daniel Boys seems a nice guy, nice voice etc - if slightly 'wet' IMO. He does nothing for me at all :D Quiet enjoying the programme when I catch it though - cheesey as hell!

They're contestants on the Any Dream Will Do TV programme.

 

Lee & Daniel were favorites to become the new Joseph, but Daniel was eliminated a couple of weeks ago.

There's a huge thread dedicated to him on DS and Devoted have one too :D

Your not on your own....I watched a bit of it last week because of all the hype. Curiousity got the better of me so I wanted to see just how good they were. Perhaps its because I watched them 'cold' but I wasn't very impressed. Nice enough but nothing that leapt out and grabbed me by the throat......but maybe I'm not seeing whats under my nose.....time will tell I guess.

 

I do think though that peeps just get caught up with the publicity of it all. because you can bet when this finally goes on stage they will sell heaps more tickets. Or am I just being cynical ? :D

No you're not.

 

I remember reading a while back now that ALW wasn't the force he once was in the West End. No way would he have filled the theatre for a long run of Joseph without this kind of publicity.

 

I've watched the show & think a couple of the boys are talented but I also have my suspicions as with the choice of Maria last year that the winner is pre-ordained.

 

 

It might be pre-ordained as far as getting into the final but the general public vote for the winner, not ALW.

I got blocked from Wikipedia for vandalism once when all I did was delete an offensive remark! seemingly, you're supposed to give a reason why you edit and I hadn't done so they blocked me for doing nothing, so I've not been back since. :P

Pearl I agree the choice from the final two is down to the public but as in last year by saving Helena so many times (which showed she didn't have the public support) they practically guarranteed they got exactly who they wanted.

It's obvious who they've got lined up for the part, that's why Lewis got saved imo, not that I'm bothered as I only watch for a laugh and entertainment value, I've no intention of following any of their careers.

Which week was it when Slimey admitted Will could win the competition when he'd known for weeks he was way ahead with the public? After weeks of conning the public about the results I think he finally saw it wasn't working & talent was going to win the day. :yahoo: Pity at the time I didn't have as much faith. :(

I think you are right when you say that this musical would not sell seats if there was not the TV hype, it as had such a long run, and I do think that the winner is pre-ordained, after ALW has such an investment in this he really cannot afford to have the public say who will be best for the lead, so it appears that the final two will have been the result of ALW decision and that as long as his two favourites are left for the final he will be happy. As for me. I would have been happy with Daniel and Lee at the end of the day, whereas given ALW choosing Lewis over Daniel. Whatever, SC's attempt to influence the public re Gareth over Will did not work so I guess in spite of Lees popularity Lewis could be the winner if my thoughts prove to be anywhere near the mark.

That's my interpretation too Pearl. He might not have got another chance to get rid of Daniel.

 

Shame we've been robbed of a final between in my opinion the best two performers.
