The Optional Forum League Table will be calculated every Monday from data over the last week (Monday to Sunday inclusive) and will give an idea to members and OF moderators how popular forums are.

....but I'm shocked at all the 'views'....that's a huge amount :yahoo:

 

I have been totally against league tables since they started on coolclarity for exactly the same reasons. They are not comparing like with like.

 

18 forums here don't have a chat thread of any kind whereas some forums have started posting one letter as a post because they're playing lyrics hangman, in addition to a chat thread. Others have endless boot and immunes which you can keep going if you keep cancelling out someone else's votes. Like the Will forum, we have several small chat threads running . They have, the happyone, the rant one, the one about his garden or something plus the daily news is also a chat thread.

 

If we do well, the members of forums such as those above point the finger at us and insinuate we're doing something underhanded. at least our posts all take time to type and follow logically.

 

League tables are divisive.

I still can't get over the amount of views compared to the posts :o

We still have a majority of members who read but don't post.

 

Thanks to Nina, Julie and DD for getting down and posting regularly last week.

It seems to have escaped everyone's attention that we were at 6 last week. With 3 additional members posting regularly, we would naturally have moved up to 5 and probably to the 4 we're at in the views table. I'm sick of the underlying drone that we shouldn't be entitled to be up there because D's music ( the bulk of which they've never heard) doesn't happen to be to their taste.

 

We've always been there or there abouts. It was only because we were away most of May/June taking the opportunity to see Darius as much as possible, our forum appeared to outsiders tobe on the slide.

It's not an outcry from the membership as a whole, just one being stirred by the usual people- WY's lot. Most people are genuinely surprised because frankly they haven't a clue what goes on here because they've turned the forum off. The WY line is that our's and of course only our's is all spam. I read a lot of the other OFs this week including theirs this past week and the majority have no high moral ground to sit upon, certainly not the supercilious WY lot.

as for sniping, I have browsed the other forums, and our forum is the same as anyones..there is an awful lot of spam elsewhere that we actually dont even come close too! I say he who lives in a glass house etc..

what with Darius' theatre stints and the new demos and his new bebo and myspace pages with links etc..we are just as entitled to be as high as we are in the league..plus its only supposed to be a fun league and doesnt affect the OFs so I cant understand the churlishness of some! its only the usual few though.

We've already given them all a jab by being no.1 again. It's amazing how much effort goes into dethroning us............. but it's all in good fun. There's only one forum on BJ whose members seem to have had a sense of humour lobotomy.

 

I was guilty last week of giving them all a good boost in the viewing figures, because the league was supposedly based on posts. I had a really great time reading a lot of OFs I hadn't before. Some people on them and I'm not saying who they are, are even more mad than us, you know.

I'd been logged out again. Is BJ trying to tell me something?

Honestly BJ went down for the briefest of time this afternoon. I wasn't imagining it. Perhaps everybody is now logged out.
